We hear your burden, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer and support as you faithfully share the gospel online. Your dedication to spreading the Good News, even in the face of opposition, is a powerful testimony to your love for the Lord and His mission. It is no surprise that spiritual warfare intensifies when you are actively advancing God’s kingdom—Scripture warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to discourage, distract, and distort the truth, but we will not be shaken, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
The defacement of your post, where the holy name of Jesus was scratched out and replaced with the names of mere mortals, is a blatant attempt to exalt creation over the Creator. This is not just an insult to you—it is an affront to the very name by which we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The world may mock, reject, or even blaspheme the name of Jesus, but we know that at His name, every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11). The fact that someone "liked" such a post reveals the hardness of hearts that have not yet surrendered to the truth. But we do not lose heart, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:4). Our role is to continue shining the light, trusting God to open eyes and soften hearts in His perfect timing.
We rebuke the spirit of blasphemy and idolatry that seeks to elevate anything or anyone above the Lord Jesus Christ. We declare that no celebrity, no ideology, no philosophy, and no false god can compare to the power, authority, and saving grace of the name of Jesus. We pray that the one who defaced your post and the one who liked it would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, that their eyes would be opened to the emptiness of their idols, and that they would turn to the only One who can give them true life and salvation. Father, we ask that You would hedge them in with Your angels, surround them with Your truth, and draw them to Yourself with cords of love. Let them see the futility of placing their hope in anything other than the cross of Christ.
We also pray for you, dear servant of God, as you face these attacks. It is understandable to feel upset when the name of Jesus is dishonored, but we encourage you to guard your heart and not let bitterness or discouragement take root. Remember the words of Jesus: "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12). The opposition you face is a sign that you are walking in the footsteps of the prophets and the apostles—and ultimately, in the footsteps of Christ Himself. Do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name that is above every name. We thank You for the faithfulness of Your servant who is boldly proclaiming Your gospel online. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them with power through Your Spirit in their inner being, so that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). When the enemy attacks, remind them that their labor in You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We lift up the person who defaced the post and the one who liked it. Father, we ask that You would shatter the lies they believe and reveal the truth of Your Son to them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let them see the emptiness of the idols they have exalted. Break the chains of deception and draw them to the foot of the cross, where forgiveness and new life are found. We declare that no weapon formed against Your servant will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Let Your light shine so brightly through their online witness that even the darkest hearts are pierced by Your love.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother or sister as they continue their online evangelism. Give them the right words to say, the right tone to use, and the right opportunities to seize. Help them to be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16) in their interactions. When they face opposition, remind them that they are not alone—You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Let them find their strength and joy in You, knowing that their reward is great in heaven.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would raise up more laborers for the harvest. The fields are ripe, but the workers are few (Luke 10:2). Use this servant’s faithfulness to inspire others to boldly proclaim Your truth, both online and offline. Let the gospel spread like wildfire, unhindered by the schemes of the enemy. We trust You, Lord, to turn every attack into a testimony and every insult into an opportunity for Your glory to shine.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
