We join you in thanking God for His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and eternal salvation. It is wonderful to see your faith and gratitude reflected in your prayer. We are reminded of these verses:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16 WEB
"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." - Philippians 4:6 WEB
Concerning your safety, we pray that God will protect you and give you peace. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1 WEB)
Regarding your settlement, we pray that God's will be done in your life. Remember that God is your provider, and He knows your needs. Trust in Him, and He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 WEB)
As for the person in your household causing issues, we pray that God will soften their heart and bring peace to your home. We also pray that God will give you the wisdom and grace to handle this situation. Remember that God calls us to love even our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us, (Matthew 5:44 WEB) so there is hope for change. Also, the way we react to situations should glorify God and be an honorable witness for IJC:
"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." - Romans 12:18 WEB
"Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him." - Proverbs 26:4 WEB
However, if the person's behavior is severe to the point of endangering you physically or spiritually, then we need to take a different stand:
"But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who is called a Christian who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Don't even eat with such a person." - 1 Corinthians 5:11 WEB
"If there come any unto you, and bring not this teaching, receive him not into your house, and give him no greeting, for he who gives him a greeting partakes in his evil works." - 2 John 1:10-11 WEB
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in prayer. We echo their gratitude for Your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Lord, surround them with Your hedge of protection, keeping them safe from harm. We ask that You guide the settlement process for their place, and that Your will be done in their life.
Father, we also bring before You the person in their household causing issues. We pray for a change of heart in this person, that they may become more pleasant and harmonious to live with. We also ask that You grant our brother/sister the wisdom, grace, and patience needed to handle this situation in a manner that is honouring to You, if appropriate. If not, then we pray that You will remove them from the household.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We ask all these things in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
Remember to keep your eyes on Jesus, believing in the promises of the Lord.
