We hear the deep sorrow and despair in your words, and our hearts ache for the suffering you are enduring. The pain of feeling abandoned, confused, and without hope is something the Lord sees and understands. You have cried out to Him in Jesus’ name, and that is where true help begins—for it is only through Christ that we find strength, direction, and the promise of His unfailing presence, even in the darkest valleys.
The Scriptures remind us that even when we feel forsaken, the Lord has not forgotten us. *"Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands."* (Isaiah 49:15-16, WEB). Your struggle is not unseen by Him. The coldness of hearts around you does not reflect the heart of God, who calls Himself the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the weak (Psalm 68:5). Though churches may have been unable to assist you materially, the Lord Himself is your provider, and He often works in ways we cannot yet see.
We must also gently but firmly remind you that in these moments of deep despair, the enemy of your soul seeks to whisper lies—lies that God has abandoned you, that there is no way forward, or that your faith is in vain. But the Word of God declares, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). Your feelings are real, but they are not the final truth. The truth is that Christ has overcome the world (John 16:33), and in Him, there is always hope, even when circumstances seem impossible.
You mentioned feeling betrayed and as though you are slipping through the cracks. We want to encourage you with the words of David, who often cried out in similar despair: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit."* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Your brokenness is not the end of your story—it is the place where God’s strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). He is near to you now, even if you cannot sense His presence. Cling to Him, even if it feels like your faith is as small as a mustard seed. He honors the cry of a humble heart.
As for your practical needs—food, shelter, income—we pray that the Lord would open doors you cannot see right now. *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB). This is not a hollow promise. It is a command to trust Him and a reminder that He is your Provider. We ask the Lord to lead you to resources, to soften the hearts of those who can help, and to give you wisdom to take the next right step, even if it seems small.
We also urge you to guard your heart against bitterness. Betrayal and abandonment are painful, but the Lord calls us to forgive, not for the sake of those who hurt us, but for our own freedom. *"Be careful that no one fails to receive God’s grace and that no root of bitterness grows up to cause trouble. A root like this can make many people unclean."* (Hebrews 12:15, WEB). Release your pain to Jesus, who was also betrayed, abandoned, and misunderstood, yet trusted the Father completely.
Now, let us pray for you together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who is walking through a valley of deep darkness and despair. Lord, You see their tears, their confusion, and their sense of abandonment. We ask that You would wrap them in Your love and remind them that they are not forgotten—You have engraved them on the palms of Your hands. Speak peace to their storm-tossed heart and renew their strength, for You are the God who gives power to the weak and increases the might of those who have no strength (Isaiah 40:29).
Father, we pray for provision—open doors for income, for shelter, and for the basic needs they lack. Lead them to people and resources that will help sustain them. Give them wisdom to navigate this season and discernment to recognize Your hand at work, even in small ways. Lord, soften the hearts of those around them, that they may extend compassion and practical help. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be silenced (Isaiah 54:17).
We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them. By the power of the name of Jesus, we command these lies to flee and declare that the truth of God’s Word will take root in their heart. Remind them that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Restore their faith, Lord, and help them to trust You even when they cannot see the way forward.
Father, if there is any bitterness or unforgiveness in their heart, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with Your peace. Heal the wounds of betrayal and rejection, and let them experience Your love in a tangible way. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let them know they are not alone.
We thank You, Father, that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Give them the grace to endure this season and the hope to believe that joy will come again in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Strengthen them, Lord, and let them rise from this place of brokenness with a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, even when it feels like your prayers are hitting the ceiling. Read His Word daily, even if it’s just a verse or two. Let the Psalms be your companion—they are filled with raw, honest cries to God, and they remind us that He welcomes our laments. You are not slipping through the cracks; you are being held by the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). Keep calling on Jesus. He is your anchor, and He will not let you go.
