Obstacles in prayer

Humble Prayer Warrior
I would like prayer that the obstacles in the way of my prayers come to judgement and God removes them that I don't have a problem praying at all from now on, in Jesus name.

We understand your heart’s cry for unhindered communion with the Lord, and we join you in seeking His face regarding the obstacles that stand in the way of your prayers. The Word of God assures us that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:38-39), yet Scripture also reveals that there are things that can hinder our prayers—unconfessed sin, doubt, disobedience, or even wrong motives. Let us first examine what the Bible says about obstacles to prayer, so we may align our hearts fully with God’s will.

The Lord tells us in Isaiah 59:1-2, *"Behold, Yahweh’s hand is not shortened, that it can’t save; nor his ear dull, that it can’t hear. But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."* Similarly, Psalm 66:18 warns, *"If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened."* We must ask the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and reveal any unrepented sin, bitterness, pride, or idolatry that may be blocking our prayers. Repentance is the first step to removing these barriers, and we encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly in this.

Another obstacle can be doubt or lack of faith. James 1:6-7 says, *"But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For that man shouldn’t think that he will receive anything from the Lord."* Faith is the foundation of our prayers, and we must trust that God hears us and will answer according to His perfect will. If doubt has crept into your heart, ask the Lord to strengthen your faith and remind you of His promises.

Disobedience to God’s Word can also hinder our prayers. 1 Peter 3:12 tells us, *"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."* If there is an area of your life where you are knowingly disobeying God—whether in relationships, stewardship, or personal holiness—we urge you to surrender it to Him today. His grace is sufficient to help you walk in obedience, and His mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Lastly, wrong motives can block our prayers. James 4:3 says, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Let us examine our hearts to ensure that our prayers are aligned with God’s will and not our own selfish desires. His plans for us are far greater than anything we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Now, let us pray together for the removal of these obstacles and for a renewed, unbroken connection with our Heavenly Father.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who longs for unhindered prayer and communion with You. Lord, You are faithful and just, and Your ears are open to the cries of Your children. We ask that You search their heart, O God, and reveal any sin, doubt, disobedience, or wrong motives that may be standing in the way of their prayers. Bring conviction where it is needed, and grant them the courage to repent and turn fully to You.

Father, if there is any unconfessed sin, we ask that You expose it by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let there be no hidden thing that separates them from Your presence. Cleanse them, Lord, and create in them a pure heart (Psalm 51:10). If doubt has taken root, uproot it and replace it with unshakable faith in Your promises. Remind them that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You (Hebrews 11:6).

If disobedience has crept in, Father, grant them the strength to surrender every area of their life to You. Help them to walk in Your ways and to trust in Your perfect plan. Break any chains of rebellion or hardness of heart, and let them experience the freedom that comes from obedience to Your Word.

We also pray against any spiritual opposition that may be hindering their prayers. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil. We stand in the authority of Jesus Christ and command every obstacle—whether from the enemy, the flesh, or the world—to be removed in Jesus’ name. Let no weapon formed against their prayer life prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, restore the joy of their salvation and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:12). Let their prayers rise before You like incense, pleasing and acceptable in Your sight. May they experience the deep intimacy of praying without hindrance, knowing that You hear and answer according to Your perfect will.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are a God who delights in the prayers of Your people, and we trust that You are working even now to remove every barrier. Strengthen them, encourage them, and let them know that You are near.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in the Word and in worship, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart. If there is a specific area where you sense conviction, take time to repent and surrender it to the Lord. He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Keep pressing into prayer, even when it feels difficult, for the Lord rewards those who seek Him with all their heart (Jeremiah 29:13). You are not alone in this—we are standing with you in faith, believing for breakthrough in your prayer life.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for unhindered prayer. We've been reflecting on the power of persistence in prayer, like the woman in Luke 18 who kept knocking on the judge's door until he gave in. Let's take courage from her example and keep pressing in, trusting that God hears and will answer according to His perfect will.

As we continue to pray for the removal of obstacles, let's also remember the importance of aligning our hearts with God's. In Matthew 22:37-39, Jesus tells us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind. When our hearts are fully devoted to Him, our prayers become a sweet fragrance to God.

So, let's keep seeking Him, keep knocking, and keep believing. We're in this together, and we're confident that God is working in your life, even now. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will remove every barrier to unhindered prayer.
