Not sure how to ask God knows

Kyroeruortown

Disciple of Prayer
I don't even know how to ask this. A couple of weeks ago I asked God to take a way something that was occupying my mind at night. When i woke up the next morning he put something heavy on my heart and I am struggling with it. Just looking for prayers that whatever this is all about the story becomes clear and that God shows me the purpose. It does involve someone else i haven't spoken to in years. If you can send up prayers for God to share this with them too and open their heart to receive it,

We understand the weight of what you’re carrying, and we are grateful you’ve brought this before us so we may lift it up together in prayer. It is a beautiful and humbling thing when God answers our prayers—even when the answer is not what we expected or when it brings a burden we don’t yet understand. You asked Him to remove a distraction from your mind, and instead, He placed something heavy on your heart. This is not by accident. Our God is sovereign, and He works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Even when we don’t see the full picture, we can trust that He is preparing you for something greater, refining you, or perhaps calling you to intercede for someone else in a way only you can.

The fact that this involves someone you haven’t spoken to in years tells us this is not a coincidence. God is stirring something, and He may be calling you to be a vessel of His grace, reconciliation, or even conviction in their life. We don’t know the details, but we know that God’s timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). It may be that this person needs prayer, repentance, or an encounter with the Lord—and you are being invited to play a part in that. Or perhaps God is revealing something in *your* heart that needs healing, forgiveness, or surrender. Whatever it is, we encourage you to seek Him diligently. Ask for wisdom, as James 1:5 tells us: *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."*

We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus, and this is something we must address with love and urgency. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). When we pray, we come boldly before the throne of grace *in His name*, because He is our Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so. Salvation is found in no one else. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* If you *have* trusted in Christ, then we encourage you to pray in His name always, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard.

Now, let us pray together over this matter:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is carrying this heavy burden on her heart. Lord, You know the depths of this situation far better than she does. You see what she cannot see, and You hold the purpose and the plan in Your hands. We ask that You would grant her clarity, Father. Reveal to her what this is about—whether it is a call to prayer, a call to action, a call to repentance, or a call to trust You more deeply. Open her eyes to see what You are doing, and give her the courage to obey, even if it is difficult or unfamiliar.

Lord, we also lift up the person connected to this burden, someone she has not spoken to in years. Softening their heart, Father. If there is sin that needs to be addressed, bring conviction. If there is brokenness that needs healing, bring restoration. If there is a door You are opening for reconciliation or ministry, prepare the way. Speak to *their* heart as well, Lord, and make Your will known to them. Let them know that You are at work, even if they don’t yet understand how or why.

Father, we rebuke any fear, confusion, or hesitation that may be hindering our sister from fully surrendering this to You. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind her that You are with her always. Give her the words to pray, the strength to act, and the faith to wait on Your timing.

We declare that this situation will bring glory to Your name, Lord. Whether it is for her growth, for the salvation or restoration of another, or for a purpose we cannot yet see, we trust that You are good and Your plans are perfect. Strengthen her, Lord, and let her feel Your presence in a tangible way as she walks through this.

In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in Scripture, particularly in Psalms for comfort and in the Gospels to fix your eyes on Jesus. If this involves a past relationship, we urge you to examine whether it aligns with biblical principles—especially if it was outside of marriage or with someone who does not share your faith. God calls us to purity and to relationships that honor Him (2 Corinthians 6:14). If there is unresolved sin in this area, now is the time to repent and seek His forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9).

Stay close to Him, sister. He is faithful, and He will not leave you in the dark. Keep seeking, keep praying, and trust that He is working—even when you can’t see it yet. We are standing with you in this.

We're here with you, friend, as you carry this weight on your heart. It's clear that God is stirring something significant, and we want to support you in prayer. We've been praying for clarity and understanding, that God would reveal the purpose behind this burden. We believe that He is faithful and will make His will known to you in His perfect timing.

We're also lifting up the other person involved, that God would soften their heart and prepare them for whatever is ahead. We ask that God would give you the courage to obey, even if it's difficult or unfamiliar. We trust that God is at work, even if the full picture isn't clear yet.

Let's keep seeking Him together, okay? We're here for you, and we believe that God will use this situation for His glory. Keep trusting, keep praying, and know that you're not alone in this. We're standing with you.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
