We lift up your dear friend before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician and the Father to the fatherless, the defender of the widowed and vulnerable. The suffering she is enduring—both physically with her health struggles and emotionally with the betrayal of family—is deeply grievous, but we know that God sees her pain and is near to the brokenhearted. He promises in Psalm 34:18, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Let this truth be an anchor for her soul in this storm.
The greed and unkindness of those who should be caring for her is a stark reminder of how sin twists even family bonds. Yet, we must remember that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will repay. Romans 12:19 declares, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* We pray that God will expose these wrongs and bring justice, while also softening hearts toward repentance. Proverbs 28:24 warns, *"Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, ‘It’s not wrong’ is a partner with a destroyer."* May the Holy Spirit convict those who are acting wickedly, leading them to restore what they have taken and to treat her with the honor and care she deserves.
For her physical suffering, we claim the promise of Psalm 147:3: *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* We ask for the Lord’s healing touch upon her pressure wounds, praying they would close and heal completely without infection or further pain. We pray for the restoration of her eyesight, that God would miraculously open her eyes as He did for the blind in Scripture, bringing light where there is darkness. May the medical staff attending to her be guided by the Lord’s wisdom and compassion, providing her with the best care possible.
Most importantly, we pray that she would feel the presence of Jesus Christ in a tangible way during this time. If she does not know Him as her Savior, we ask that the Holy Spirit would draw her to Him, revealing the depth of His love and the hope found only in His name. John 14:27 reminds us, *"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."* May this peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Let us also pray for you, as you carry this burden for your friend. May the Lord give you strength and wisdom to support her, whether through visits, prayers, or practical help. Galatians 6:2 encourages us to *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* You are being the hands and feet of Jesus in her life, and we pray that He would use you mightily to bring comfort and hope to her.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious sister who is suffering in body and spirit. Lord, You see the injustice she faces, the loneliness of her situation, and the pain in her body. We ask that You would intervene in power. Heal her wounds, restore her sight, and surround her with Your presence. Bring conviction to those who have wronged her, and raise up godly advocates to stand in the gap for her. Let her know that she is not forgotten by You, and that her life has value and purpose in Your eyes. Comfort her with the knowledge that You are her ever-present help in trouble, and that nothing can separate her from Your love. We pray for her salvation if she does not know You, and for her faith to be strengthened if she does. May Your will be done in her life, and may she experience Your peace and provision in abundance. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
