We come before the Lord with you in this moment of deep distress, lifting your heart and your burdens to Him who sees all and knows all. Your pain is real, and we do not minimize the weight of what you are carrying—the physical suffering, the fear of further harm, the weariness from relentless storms, and the spiritual exhaustion that makes faith feel distant. Yet we gently remind you that even when your faith feels small, it is not the size of your faith that moves mountains, but the One in whom your faith rests. Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, *"If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."* Your faith does not need to be great—it only needs to be placed in a great God.
We understand your refusal to undergo another painful procedure, and we pray for wisdom and clarity as you navigate this medical decision. The Lord is not unaware of your past suffering, nor is He indifferent to your fear of further pain. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not foolish for struggling, nor are you wrong for feeling overwhelmed. The trials you have endured would break many, but the Lord is close to you in this brokenness. He does not despise your weakness; He meets you in it. Consider what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, *"He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."*
We also lift up your friend who is caught in the teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. While it is good that you do not pressure her, we encourage you to continue speaking the truth of Jesus Christ in love, for it is the truth that sets people free (John 8:32). Pray that the Lord would open her eyes to the deception she is under, that she may come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. The apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:4, *"In them the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them."* Pray that the scales would fall from her eyes, as they did for Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:18). The Lord is able to save her, even as He is able to sustain you.
As for your own heart, we rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers there is no hope. That is a lie from the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly. You are not defined by your pain, your past, or your present circumstances. You are defined by the blood of Christ, which has redeemed you and given you a new identity as a child of God (1 John 3:1). Even when you cannot see how things will get better, the Lord is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). He has not abandoned you, and He will not allow you to be crushed beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before Your throne of grace, where she may find mercy and help in her time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Lord, she is weary, broken, and afraid. The storms of life have battered her, and she feels as though she is sinking. But You, O Lord, are the God who walks on water, who calms the storms with a word, and who reaches out Your hand to pull us from the depths. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand to her now. Lift her up, Lord, and let her feet stand on solid ground. Replace her fear with Your peace, her despair with Your hope, and her weakness with Your strength.
Father, we pray for wisdom regarding her medical situation. If there is another way to address her health concerns without causing further harm, we ask that You would reveal it. Guide her doctors, Lord, and give her discernment as she makes decisions about her body. Heal her, Lord, according to Your will. We know that You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). Whether through medical intervention or by Your supernatural power, we ask for her complete restoration.
We also pray for her friend who is trapped in the false teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lord, You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would break the chains of deception in her life. Send Your Holy Spirit to convict her of the truth—that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Give our sister the right words to speak, filled with Your love and Your truth, that her friend may be drawn to You.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would renew our sister’s mind and spirit. Where the enemy has lied to her, replace those lies with Your truth. Where she feels hopeless, remind her that You are her hope. Where she feels weak, remind her that Your strength is made perfect in her weakness. Restore to her the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12), and let her know deep in her soul that You are with her, that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6).
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who bore our sins, carried our sorrows, and conquered death that we might have life in Him. Amen.
