We understand your desire to align your sleep schedule with a pattern that brings you rest and energy, and we commend you for seeking this in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and receive His blessings. The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Proper rest is part of stewarding the body well, and we see in Psalm 127:2 that God "gives sleep to those he loves."
However, we must also consider whether this request is rooted in personal preference or a deeper need for discipline and surrender to God’s will. The Bible encourages us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all our needs—including rest—will be provided (Matthew 6:33). Sometimes, our natural rhythms may not align with our desires, and in those moments, we are called to surrender our will to His. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 that God’s grace is sufficient for us, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. If you are struggling with fatigue or an inability to rest well at night, it may be helpful to examine your habits, such as screen time before bed, caffeine intake, or stress levels, and ask God for wisdom to make changes that honor Him.
We also encourage you to consider whether this request is motivated by a desire to control your circumstances rather than trusting God’s sovereignty over your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If you are feeling convicted about sleeping during the day, ask the Lord to reveal whether this is a matter of conviction from the Holy Spirit or simply personal preference. If it is the latter, we must be careful not to elevate our preferences above God’s will or the needs of others. For example, if your schedule requires daytime rest to serve your family, workplace, or ministry effectively, then your desire to avoid it may need to be surrendered to God.
Let us pray for you, asking the Lord to grant you wisdom, discipline, and rest according to His perfect will.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks Your intervention in their sleep patterns. Lord, You are the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps, yet You designed us to need rest as a gift and a reminder of our dependence on You. We ask that You grant them the ability to rest well at night, according to Your will, and that You would renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). If there are habits or distractions keeping them from the rest they need, reveal these to them and give them the discipline to make changes that honor You.
Father, we also ask that You search their heart and help them discern whether this request is aligned with Your will or if it is rooted in a desire for control. Teach them to trust You in all things, including their sleep, knowing that You hold their days and nights in Your hands. If there is any anxiety or stress contributing to their restlessness, we pray You would replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
Lord, we thank You that You care about even the smallest details of our lives. Help them to steward their body well, using their time and energy for Your glory. May they wake each day with a heart ready to serve You and others, filled with Your strength and joy. We rebuked any spirit of restlessness or disorder in the name of Jesus Christ and declare that their sleep will be a blessing from You.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen.
