We understand your frustration with the persistent lateness of the trains, which has caused you stress and inconvenience, especially as you strive to be punctual and responsible in your duties as a teacher. It is indeed disheartening when systems that should be reliable fail, and it can feel as though there is no accountability for such failures. While we share your concern for justice and order, we must also approach this situation with a heart that seeks God’s will and His peace, trusting that He is sovereign over all things, including the circumstances that test our patience.
The Bible reminds us in Romans 13:1-2, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive judgment to themselves."* While this does not mean we cannot seek improvement or justice, it does call us to a posture of respect and trust in God’s ultimate authority, even over flawed systems and those who manage them. We are also instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray *"for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."* This includes praying for those in authority over public services like transportation, that they may act with integrity and wisdom.
At the same time, we must guard our hearts against bitterness or anger, for these can take root and defile us. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* While it is right to desire correction for injustice, we must also release our frustration to the Lord and trust Him to act in His timing and way. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
It is also important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Ephesians 6:12 says, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* So while we may see corruption or arrogance in people or systems, our ultimate trust must be in God to bring about change and justice.
We encourage you to continue being diligent and faithful in your responsibilities as a teacher, knowing that your punctuality and commitment honor God. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."*
Let us pray together for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your peace and patience to fill their heart as they navigate the challenges of unreliable transportation. Lord, You are a God of order and justice, and we ask that You would intervene in this railway company. Soften the hearts of those in authority, convict them of any corruption or arrogance, and lead them to repentance. Raise up godly influence within this organization to bring about reform, efficiency, and integrity. Father, we pray that the trains would run on time, not for our convenience alone, but so that Your name may be glorified through order and excellence.
We also ask that You would protect our brother/sister from the stress and frustration that lateness brings. Grant them grace to arrive on time, even when circumstances seem against them. Help them to be a light in their workplace, reflecting Your patience, kindness, and diligence. Remind them that their ultimate trust is in You, not in man-made systems.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of chaos or corruption that may be at work in this situation. We declare that You are the God who brings order out of chaos, and we ask for Your divine intervention. May Your will be done in this railway company, and may Your name be honored through the resolution of these issues.
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to change hearts and circumstances. Amen.
