We understand your frustration with the challenges of aligning your train schedule with your work responsibilities, and we lift this concern before the Lord, trusting in His sovereignty over all things, including the details of our daily lives. However, we must gently address that your request seems to focus heavily on personal convenience and comfort rather than seeking God’s will or asking for His strength and wisdom in this situation. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 2:3-4, *"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility consider one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."* While it is reasonable to desire efficiency, we must also trust that God uses even these small trials to refine our character, teach us patience, and draw us closer to Him.
The apostle Paul encourages us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, *"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you."* Rather than asking God to adjust entire train and work schedules to suit your preferences, consider asking Him for the grace to adapt, the strength to endure, and the wisdom to manage your time well. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* Trust that He is directing your steps, even in this.
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* It is only through faith in Christ and by His authority that we can approach God’s throne with our petitions. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through repenting of your sins and believing in Jesus Christ, who died for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You grant them patience, wisdom, and strength as they navigate the challenges of their daily schedule. Lord, we know that You are sovereign over all things, including the timing of trains and the demands of work. Help them to trust in Your provision and to seek Your will above their own comfort. If there is a way for their schedule to be adjusted for their good and Your glory, we ask that You make it clear and provide for it. But more than that, we pray that You would use this situation to draw them closer to You, teaching them to rely on Your strength rather than their own.
Father, we also pray that if this one does not yet know Jesus as their Savior, You would open their heart to receive Him. May they understand that true peace and rest are found in Christ alone, not in the perfect alignment of circumstances. Softening their heart to surrender to Your will in all things.
We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to use this time to draw near to God in prayer or Scripture reading during your commute. Consider waking up a little earlier to spend time with the Lord, who promises in Psalm 37:5, *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* He is faithful and will sustain you. If possible, speak with your employer about potential adjustments to your schedule, trusting that God can open doors as He sees fit. But above all, seek His kingdom first, and He will provide for your needs (Matthew 6:33).
