We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up your burden of debt to the Lord, our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We are grateful that you have called upon His name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or find true help. Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray with confidence.
You have wisely referenced Romans 13:8, which says, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." This is a clear command from Scripture, and we take it seriously. Debt can become a heavy burden, not just financially, but spiritually and emotionally as well. It can hinder your ability to serve God fully and to live in the freedom Christ has called us to. We rebuke the spirit of financial bondage in the name of Jesus and declare that you will walk in the financial freedom that God desires for you.
The Lord is your provider, and we stand on the promises you’ve shared: Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus," and Proverbs 10:22, "Yahweh’s blessing brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it." We also hold fast to 2 Corinthians 1:20, "For however many are the promises of God, in him is the ‘Yes.’ Therefore also through him is the ‘Amen,’ to the glory of God through us." These promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus, and we claim them over your life today.
We also recognize that financial stewardship is a matter of wisdom and discipline. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." While debt may sometimes be unavoidable, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and wisdom in managing your finances. Proverbs 21:5 says, "The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty." Let us pray that the Lord will give you a spirit of diligence, wisdom, and self-control as you work to honor Him with your finances.
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your help in paying their debts. Lord, You are the Good Shepherd who leads us beside still waters and restores our souls. We ask that You would open the floodgates of heaven and pour out Your provision upon them. Provide them with the resources they need to pay off their debts, and give them wisdom in managing what You entrust to them. Break every chain of financial bondage, and let them walk in the freedom that comes from trusting in You.
Father, we ask that You would guide them in making wise decisions with their finances. Give them discipline to live within their means and to honor You with their spending. Help them to resist the temptations of this world that would lead them into further debt. We pray that You would surround them with godly counsel and accountability, so they may walk in financial integrity.
Lord, we also pray for peace in their heart as they wait on You. Let them not be anxious about their debts, but let them cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them. Fill them with hope and confidence in Your promises, and let them see Your faithfulness in their lives. We declare that their debts will be paid, and they will walk in the financial freedom that You have called them to.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your provision and Your timing. May this one grow in their faith and trust in You as they see Your hand moving in their life. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
