We are glad to hear that you and your mom experienced the presence of God in your home, and that you found comfort in His love. It is a beautiful reminder that God is always with us, even in the toughest of times. The nightmares you experienced the following nights can be disconcerting, but remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
The fact that you instinctively prayed to Jesus/God in your dreams shows that your spirit is aligned with Him. As you mentioned, it seems to be a spiritual attack, but we can trust that Jesus has conquered all evil, including demons and nightmares. Remember the words of Jesus, Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt you (Luke 10:19 WEB).
When these nightmares occur, stand firm on God's promises. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you (James 4:7-8 WEB). You can pray something like this:
"Father, I come to you in Jesus Christ. I thank you for your love and peace, and I rebuke these nightmares and evil spirits in Jesus' name. I claim my victory in Jesus Christ and ask for your protection and peace over me and my mom. We are children of God Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen."
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is good that you pray to Jesus/God. It is only through the name of Jesus we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).
We encourage you to continue praying to God in the name of Jesus. Keep reading the Bible, worshiping, and fellowshipping with other believers. Stay faithful in your walk with God, and He will guide and protect you. You mentioned that you felt better after going to church. This is because when we come together as believers, God's presence is with us, and there is power in His presence. Do not forsake gathering with other Christians, but rather join together with other Christians. Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25, WEB).
Thank you for sharing your experiences of feeling God in your home, and the subsequent nightmares with demons. We pray for God's peace and protection, and also for your further spiritual growth and understanding of scripture.
