NH Wild Cat-Astrophes ... Calling all cat parents and cat adorers. Anyone in NH or close to the border by chance? Need charitable vet care for routine preventive as well as Emergencies such as this!!
"Reddington" my giant red tabby appears to have a bad sprain or possible fracture of the right front "wrist." Holding it up off the floor, won't attempt weight bearing, swollen. He hops around on three limbs and is adapting quickly to that. He's snuggly and able to get into comfy positions to sleep -- eating/drinking sufficient to use the facilities, and wants to go out on his usual nightly runs and of course sulks when we don't allow it.
It's been about 3 days, we were hoping it was a flare of arthritis but it should be improving by now if that were it. We can't afford a vet visit as we just paid $100 from a friend who offered it to get one of our six feline kiddoes fixed ... the place is amazing and enabled me to get everyone done by next month, and "pay it forward." I've found my favorite charity for the rest of my life. But they don't do routine vet care such as broken bones/sprains.
Now, they gave me pain meds for the girls who got spayed in the last couple of days, In case they needed them. They're doing great, no pain, so I wondered if I can give some of it to Reddie. We are going to try making a homemade wrap/splint. Praying for a spontaneous, or rapid recovery of movement, for the swelling and/or pain and stiffness to disappear and that he get normal use of it again.
Also pray that I can get my 4yrold Gabriel and the two little kittens neutered sooner rather than the end of next month, as for some bizarre reason, Gabriel is stalking little Ruby even though she was spayed just yesterday. He seems to be detecting heat hormones, and is desperately trying to mate with her. The other girl, Gracie, whom he had a litter with, is not being bothered by him, but in fact enjoys sweet little kisses without the consequences lol - they are in love, and with no danger of producing. Clearly Ruby couldn't get pregnant now either, but she wants nothing to do with his advances. To give her any peace I need to continue the round the clock guard duty, putting one in solitary while the other runs free, and vice-versa.
Its exhausting lol I assume once I get him neutered the whole house will be more harmonious. I would've got him done first but I was afraid they wouldn't take him due to his thinned out coat//allergy situation.
Sorry for such long posts, but I am a writer, don't know how to sum things up in just a few short sentences Lol God bless you all thank you so much.
