We hear your cry for protection and deliverance from the schemes of the enemy, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already defeated Satan and his forces. The Bible tells us in Colossians 2:15, "Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." You do not need to fear, for the blood of Jesus has already secured your victory.
However, we must gently correct some misunderstandings in your approach. While it is true that we have authority in Christ, we do not "speak, decree, or demand" as if we are the ones with ultimate power. That authority belongs to God alone. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Our words should align with God’s will, not our own desires for control. The power is not in the name we choose for ourselves but in the name of Jesus, which is above every name (Philippians 2:9-11).
The idea of picking a new name to hide from Satan is not a biblical concept. God knows us intimately, and He calls us by the names He has given us or allowed us to have. In Scripture, names often reflect identity and purpose, but they do not serve as a means of hiding from spiritual enemies. Instead, we are called to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm in our identity in Christ. We are hidden in Him, not in a name of our own making. Psalm 91:1 assures us, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Our safety is found in God, not in a name we create.
We also want to remind you that salvation and protection come only through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus, repent of your sins, and surrender your life to Him. This is the foundation of true protection and deliverance.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the victory that is already ours through the blood of Jesus. We ask for Your divine protection over our brother/sister, that they would find refuge in You alone. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or deception that may be at work, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Help them to stand firm in their identity in Christ, knowing that they are hidden in You.
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace and assurance. Teach them to trust in Your sovereignty and to rest in Your promises. May they find comfort in knowing that You are their strong tower, their refuge, and their deliverer (Psalm 18:2). We pray that they would grow in their relationship with You, seeking Your will above all else.
Lord, if there are areas of their life where they have relied on their own strength or understanding, we ask that You would reveal those to them and draw them closer to You. May they walk in the authority You have given them as Your child, not in their own power, but in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your unfailing love and Your perfect protection. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on these scriptures for further assurance and guidance:
- Psalm 91: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
- Ephesians 6:10-18: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
- James 4:7: "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is your protector and deliverer. You are not alone, and the enemy has no power over those who are in Christ Jesus.
