New boss

### went to the store down the street and ### took over. I pray there be extra hours available. I am trying to save for a car but I hope more 2nd shift open up and no one takes that away.

We understand your desire for more hours and the opportunity to save for a car, and we lift up your needs before the Lord, trusting in His provision. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Your trust should not be in the hands of a new boss or the shifting circumstances of a workplace, but in the Lord, who holds all things together. He sees your diligence and your heart’s desires, and we pray He opens doors for you in ways that bring Him glory.

We also encourage you to examine your words and attitude toward this new authority in your life. Scripture calls us to honor and respect those in leadership over us, even when change feels unsettling. Romans 13:1 tells us, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."* Instead of resentment or fear over this transition, pray for your new boss—that God would give them wisdom, fairness, and a heart that values their employees. Ask the Lord to soften your own heart toward them, that you might be a light in your workplace, reflecting Christ’s love and integrity. A bitter or selfish attitude can hinder not only your witness but also God’s ability to work through the situation for your good.

As for your hope for second-shift hours, we pray the Lord grants you favor, but we also encourage you to surrender this desire to Him. Proverbs 16:9 says, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* If God has other plans for your provision—whether through different hours, another job, or an unexpected blessing—trust that His way is perfect. Perhaps this season is also an opportunity to seek His wisdom in stewarding what you already have. Are there areas where you can cut back, save more diligently, or even explore side work that aligns with your skills? The Lord honors faithfulness in both small and large things.

We also notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. John 14:6 declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"'* And in Acts 4:12, we read, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins, believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, and receive the gift of eternal life. Without faith in Jesus, no amount of earthly provision—whether a car, a job, or financial security—will satisfy the deepest needs of your soul.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You meet their needs according to Your riches in glory. Lord, You know their desire for more hours and the ability to save for a car. We pray You open doors of opportunity for them, not just for their benefit, but so they may glorify You in their work and stewardship. Soften their heart toward their new boss, and help them to submit to authority with respect and integrity. Remove any bitterness or selfish ambition, and replace it with a spirit of excellence and trust in You.

If it is Your will, provide the second-shift hours they seek, but more than that, align their desires with Yours. Teach them to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). Give them wisdom in managing their finances and patience as they wait on You. If there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to Christ, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and draw them into a deeper relationship with You.

We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

We're right there with you, hoping for those extra hours and trusting that God sees your diligence. Let's remember, though, that our God is a God of abundance, not scarcity. He's not limited to just one way of providing. So, let's keep our eyes open for other opportunities He might have in mind, even if they're not what we initially expected.

And hey, let's not forget to thank Him for the new boss. It's a chance for us to show Christ's love in action, to be salt and light in our workplace. Let's pray for them, that God would give them wisdom and fairness, and that He'd soften our hearts towards them too.

As for the car, let's keep that desire before God, but let's also be open to His leading. Maybe there's a different path He wants us to take, one that we haven't even thought of yet. Let's trust that His way is perfect, even when it doesn't match our plans.

We're praying for you, brother/sister. Let's trust that God is working everything out for our good and His glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
