Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing this great burden of sorrow before the Lord. You have cried out for those who suffer abandonment, for children left alone, for families torn apart when wife or husband or daughter or son is forsaken, for brothers and sisters and friends who are betrayed, and for those who have no house or family or refuge to shelter them. You have also cried out for the unborn who are despised or rejected by their own mother or father. God sees all of this and He does not turn away from such grief.

The Scriptures you quoted are true and we cling to them with you. Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, Psalm 27:10. And can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, yet even if she forgets, I will not forget you, says the Lord, Isaiah 49:15. When people abandon, God remains faithful. When there is no earthly shelter, He Himself is our refuge.

We pray with you and entrust every innocent child, every aborted and miscarried baby, to the mercy and care of God, asking Him in His compassion to receive them into His presence in heaven. We do not ask God to bless the taking of innocent life, for life is His gift, but we ask for His mercy upon all involved, and for His forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other name. We pray that mothers and fathers who have rejected their children would come to repentance and find mercy, and that the ancient pattern of destroying generations would be broken by the grace of Christ.

We also pray for all who are left alone and abandoned, one, two, three, and many more, that God would provide shelter, protection, and a community of mercy to support them. We ask Him to move the hearts of His people to show mercy, for nothing is so characteristic of a Christian as mercy. As we have been taught, blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, and when we show mercy to our neighbor, we store up mercy for ourselves before God. When we pray for those who have sinned greatly, even the innocent children can intercede for us through their simplicity, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore we pray that God would have mercy upon you in your need, upon every abandoned child and broken family, upon every mother and father in distress, and upon every unborn child. May He forgive sin, heal wounds, provide homes and friends and refuge where there is none, and teach us all to be merciful as our Father in heaven is merciful. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great mercy, that His light would break forth like the morning over this darkness.

Your prayer for those who feel abandoned and for unborn children who are rejected carries a deep compassion that reflects God's own heart. The pain you describe, of families broken, children left alone without a house or refuge, and little ones despised even by their own parents, is real grief, and it is right to bring it before the Lord.

Scripture gives a precious promise for exactly this kind of sorrow. Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, Psalm 27:10. And again, can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, though she may forget, I will not forget you, Isaiah 49:15. Even when human love fails, God's remembrance does not fail. We can entrust those innocent children, including those lost through miscarriage or taken through abortion, into His care, asking Him in His mercy to receive them. He alone is the righteous judge and the tender Father who sees each life.

What you are asking for is mercy, and the Bible shows us what mercy truly is. Grace is receiving good that we do not deserve, mercy is not receiving the punishment that we do deserve. None of us can claim mercy as a right. When Israel had rebelled and in justice should have been wiped out, God still declared to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. It is not because of our will or our effort, but because God in His sovereignty chooses to show mercy. He was even looking for a reason to be merciful, placing intercession on Moses heart so that He could forgive rather than destroy. That same sovereign mercy is our hope today. We do not come asking for justice, for justice would condemn us all, we come asking for mercy, and we are glad He delights to give it.

That mercy does not set aside truth or justice. Mercy without justice would be wrong, and justice without mercy would leave us without hope. The two meet together in Jesus Christ. Righteousness and peace kiss at the cross. Through Jesus, the penalty for sin was paid so that God can be both just and merciful, forgiving the guilty who come to Him through His Son. There is salvation in no other name. It is only through Jesus that we have peace with God and can be made righteous before Him.

And that mercy is not small or short lived. The psalms repeat it over and over to impress it on our hearts, His mercy endures forever. It endures through all circumstances and all generations. It is as high as the heavens are above the earth toward those who fear Him, from everlasting to everlasting. God delights in mercy and is looking for the turning of the heart that says, Lord, I am sorry, have mercy on me. Even when trouble comes through our own disobedience, when we cry out to Him out of distress, He hears because His mercy endures forever. There was a time when God said to Israel, I will no more have mercy, because they had presumed upon it, yet even then He promised restoration, that He would have mercy on those who had not obtained mercy and call those who were not His people His people. His mercy is without limit and it is still available to all who call upon Him.

So we join you in prayer. We ask the Lord to have mercy on every child who is abandoned or rejected, to receive them into His heavenly care, to have mercy on mothers and fathers who are under great pressure or hardness of heart, to have mercy on families fractured by abandonment and betrayal, on sons and daughters and friends left alone, and on all who have no refuge. We ask Him to be the shelter for those without a house and the Father for those without family. We ask Him to bring comfort to those who mourn and to show His compassion to a world that knows much grief.

May you continue to call upon Him, trusting that He hears, that He has not forgotten, and that His mercy endures forever. In the name of Jesus Christ, who alone brings mercy and truth together, we ask for His mercy, His grace, and His peace to rest upon you and upon all those you have lifted before Him.

We have prayed for those who have lost family, for wives abandoned and husbands abandoned, for daughters and sons left alone, for children abandoned without shelter or refuge, for sisters and brothers and friends who have been betrayed and have no house or family to support them, and for every unborn child despised or rejected by mother or father that God in His mercy would receive them into His care in heaven and bring healing where generations have been wounded by disobedience and destruction.

We cling to the promises you shared, that though my father and mother forsake me the Lord will receive me in Psalm 27:10 and that though a mother may forget the baby at her breast the Lord will not forget His own in Isaiah 49:15. We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will pour out His compassion and mercy upon the abandoned and upon the unborn, that He will be a refuge and shelter for the lonely, that He will restore families and provide homes and faithful friends to those who have none, and that He will bring comfort and hope to all who feel forsaken.
