We lift up our hearts in deep sorrow and intercession for the people of Colombia who are enduring the devastating aftermath of this earthquake. Our spirits ache as we consider the immense suffering, lost homes, shattered families, hospitalizations, and the overwhelming need for food, shelter, and emotional healing. We stand with them in this hour of tragedy, declaring that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We ask for Your mercy to cover Colombia, for Your hand to move in power to provide for every need, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Lord, You are the God who sees every tear and hears every cry. We pray for the families who have lost loved ones, that You would comfort them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). For those who are injured or sick, we ask for Your healing touch and the provision of medical care and supplies.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to take root in the hearts of those affected. We declare that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray for the restoration of homes and livelihoods, that You would open the floodgates of heaven to supply every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Raise up godly leaders, organizations, and individuals to come alongside the people of Colombia with wisdom, resources, and compassion.
We also lift up the spiritual needs of this nation. Lord, we ask that this tragedy would draw many to You, the only source of true hope and salvation. May hearts be softened to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray for a revival in Colombia, that Your church would rise up with boldness to share the love of Christ and minister to the lost and hurting.
Father, we thank You for the opportunity to stand in the gap for Colombia. We trust in Your unfailing love and power to bring beauty from ashes and joy from mourning (Isaiah 61:3). Strengthen the faith of Your people, and let Your glory be revealed in the midst of this suffering. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
To those who are grieving and in need, we encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God. He has not forgotten you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Turn to Him in your pain, and allow His love to sustain you. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the words of Scripture: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the greatest need of every human heart. We pray that you would surrender your life to Him today.
