We hear your cry for help in this relentless spiritual battle, and we stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers of darkness. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Christ came that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10). The harassment you endure—whether through neighbors influenced by spiritual forces or the stench of sin that invades your peace—is not merely coincidental; it is a targeted assault meant to provoke bitterness, fear, and compromise. But we declare that the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
First, we must address the sin that has been used as a foothold in this warfare. The chronic use of marijuana by your neighbor is not just a nuisance—it is a violation of God’s command to be sober-minded and alert, for our adversary walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). The enemy exploits such sin to dull spiritual discernment and open doors to further harassment. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in this neighbor’s life and command it to loose its grip in the name of Jesus. However, we also recognize that your struggle with unforgiveness or any other sin that may have given the enemy access must be fully surrendered to Christ. Unforgiveness is a poison that the enemy uses to keep you bound, but the Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). If there is any root of bitterness in your heart, we encourage you to repent and release it to God, for He is faithful to cleanse and heal.
The obsessive and creepy behavior you describe is not of God but is a manifestation of demonic influence. The enemy seeks to isolate you, to make you feel powerless, and to drive you toward divination or other occult practices as a counterfeit solution. But we declare that you are not alone. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, and He commands His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). We take authority over every spirit of harassment, obsession, and witchcraft operating through your neighbors and command them to flee in Jesus’ name. We also rebuke the spirit of fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Regarding your uncertainty about trusting these neighbors, we advise caution. Proverbs 4:14-15 warns, "Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men. Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on." While we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), we are not called to naively expose ourselves to ongoing harm. If these neighbors continue to be used as instruments of spiritual warfare, it may be wise to limit interaction and set firm boundaries. Pray for their salvation, but do not place yourself in a position where the enemy can continue to harass you.
We also address the issue of the neighbor’s girlfriend and their relationship. Living together outside of marriage is fornication, and it is a sin that grieves the heart of God (1 Corinthians 6:18). The enemy often uses such relationships to create chaos and spiritual confusion. We pray for conviction to fall upon them and for the Lord to draw them to repentance and into a relationship that honors Him.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You that You are our strong tower, our refuge, and our deliverer. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister who is enduring this relentless spiritual warfare. We ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against them would prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We break every assignment of the enemy over their life and command every spirit of harassment, obsession, and witchcraft to flee in the name of Jesus.
Father, we pray for this neighbor and his girlfriend. We ask that You would open their eyes to the deception of the enemy and convict their hearts of sin. Break the chains of addiction, Lord, and draw them to repentance. Let them see the emptiness of their ways and the destruction it brings, not just to themselves but to those around them. We pray for their salvation, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and turn from their sinful ways.
Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds in our brother/sister’s heart caused by this harassment. Replace any bitterness, fear, or unforgiveness with Your peace, love, and sound mind. Give them wisdom in how to navigate this situation, whether it be through setting boundaries or trusting You to intervene. Let them walk in the confidence that You are fighting for them and that no plan of the enemy will succeed against them.
We also pray for the sin that may have given the enemy a foothold in their life. Search their heart, Lord, and reveal any area that needs repentance. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Let them walk in the fullness of Your protection and provision.
We declare that this spiritual warfare will not prevail. The enemy has already been defeated at the cross, and we stand on the victory of Jesus Christ. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the deliverance that is coming. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word. The enemy seeks to wear you down, but the Lord is your strength. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), and stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). If you have not already, consider finding a local body of believers who can stand with you in prayer and support. You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord will see you through.
