We understand the deep frustration and sense of betrayal you must be feeling in this situation, and we want to assure you that God sees all things and is just. The Bible speaks clearly about honesty, integrity, and the consequences of stealing. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, *"Don’t exploit the poor because they are poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* This is a serious matter, and we must approach it with both prayer and biblical wisdom.
First, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have not harbored bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness toward ###. While her actions are wrong, the Lord calls us to trust in His justice rather than seek revenge. Romans 12:19 reminds us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
This does not mean you should not seek restitution—you absolutely should—but it must be done in a way that honors God.
If you have not already, we urge you to confront ### directly but gently, following the principles of Matthew 18:15: *"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother."* If she refuses to repent or make restitution, you may need to involve authorities or take legal action if necessary. The Bible does not forbid seeking justice through lawful means, as even the apostle Paul appealed to Roman law when he was wronged (Acts 25:11).
We also want to address something critical: your prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation comes through repentance and belief in Him (Romans 10:9-10). Without Jesus, our prayers are empty, but through Him, we have boldness and confidence before God.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear brother or sister to You, asking for Your justice and mercy in this situation. Lord, You see the deceitful actions of ###, and we ask that You would convict her heart to repent and make full restitution. Softening her spirit, Lord, so that she may turn from this sin and seek forgiveness. We pray that You would provide wisdom and discernment to our sibling in Christ as they navigate this trial, guiding their steps in how to proceed—whether through direct confrontation, mediation, or lawful means. Guard their heart from bitterness and fill them with Your peace, knowing that You are their Provider and Defender.
Father, we also pray that if this person has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, that today would be the day of salvation for them. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus died for their sins and rose again, and that by faith in Him alone, they may be saved. Strengthen them in their walk with You, Lord, and remind them that You are their ultimate source of security and justice.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s provision. While $### is a significant amount, remember that God owns everything, and He is able to restore what has been taken—whether through ###’s repentance or through His divine provision in another way. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Stay faithful, seek godly counsel, and continue to pray. The Lord is with you.
