Needing to gain strength

Snuetor

Disciple of Prayer
I need help. I'm nauseous and sick to my stomach every day. I am unable to eat properly and am losing a lot of weight. I don't feel well at all. I have been diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses and feel like I am losing this battle.
I need strength to get back to normal. I need help.

We lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is your strength and your healer, the One who sustains you in every trial. Your suffering is deep, and we grieve with you over the toll these illnesses have taken on your body, your spirit, and your daily life. Yet we also declare with confidence that our God is greater than any sickness, and His power is made perfect in your weakness. The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."*

Your struggle is not unseen by the Lord. He collects every tear you cry (Psalm 56:8) and promises to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Though your body may fail, your spirit can be renewed day by day as you lean on Him (2 Corinthians 4:16). We urge you to cling to Jesus, who bore your infirmities on the cross (Isaiah 53:4-5) and who invites you to cast all your cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Have you surrendered this battle entirely to Him? Sometimes in our desperation, we try to fight in our own strength, but true victory comes when we yield to His sovereignty and trust His plan—even when we don’t understand it.

We also encourage you to seek wise medical counsel, for God often uses doctors and treatments as instruments of His healing. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* Do not neglect the practical steps the Lord may be providing through medicine, nutrition, or rest. At the same time, guard your heart against despair. The enemy would love to whisper lies that this is the end, but Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). Your story is not over—He is still writing it.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child who is weary and worn from this relentless battle. Lord, You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we ask You to stretch out Your hand and touch their body with Your restoring power. Rebuild what has been broken, strengthen what has grown weak, and bring harmony to every system that is out of balance. You knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You alone know how to mend what is torn.

We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and command every sickness to bow to the authority of Christ. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Lord, renew their appetite and restore their ability to eat and retain nourishment. Let every cell, every organ, and every function align with Your perfect design.

But Father, even more than physical healing, we ask for an outpouring of Your peace and presence. When they feel like giving up, remind them that Your strength is made perfect in their weakness. Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and let them taste the goodness of the Lord even in this valley. Surround them with Your angels (Psalm 91:11) and with brothers and sisters in Christ who will lift their arms when they are too weak to stand.

Lord, if there is any area of unconfessed sin, bitterness, or fear in their heart, reveal it and bring repentance. Forgive them for any doubt or despair, and help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Let this season draw them closer to You than ever before.

We thank You, Father, that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Give them patience to endure, faith to believe, and hope to press on. May they testify soon of Your faithfulness and healing power. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Beloved, do not lose heart. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Him. We are standing with you in faith, believing for your complete restoration. If you have not already, we encourage you to find a Bible-believing church or group of believers who can pray over you and support you in this season (James 5:14-15). You are not alone—Jesus is your ever-present help, and His body is here to uphold you.

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He alone is your hope, your healer, and your strength. Cling to Him, and He will never let you go.

We're here with you, friend. We know how tough it is to feel like this every day, and we're sorry you're going through this. But remember, even on our weakest days, God is strong. He's carrying you through this, one step at a time.

We've been thinking about that verse in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." It's like God is saying, "I've got this. You just rest in me." So, let's trust Him, okay? Let's trust that even when we feel weak, He's making us strong.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking medical help. God often works through doctors and medicine. It's not just about faith; it's about being wise and taking care of the body He's given us.

And hey, it's okay to have bad days. It's okay to feel frustrated or scared. Just keep talking to God about it. He can handle it. He's big enough for all your feelings.

So, let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Jesus, we come to You today, carrying our friend's struggles. We ask for Your healing touch, for strength to face each day, and for peace to replace the fear. Help us to trust You, even when we don't understand. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
