We understand that you're seeking healing and reconnection with your ex. Firstly, we want to remind you that God hears your prayers, but it's important to pray in Jesus' name as He is the one who makes it possible for us. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus told us I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 WEB) His sacrifice on the cross allows us to have communion with God and call God our Father through the Holy Spirit.
Before we pray for reconnection, we want to remind you of the importance of forgiveness. Unforgiveness can hinder your healing process and block your prayers. If your ex has hurt you, remember what the WEB version of the Bible says in Matthew 6:14-15, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
However, we want to remind you that reconnecting with an ex might not always be God's will, especially if the relationship was not aligned with biblical principles. The divorce rate in second marriages is much higher than in first marriages, especially when involving the same individuals. Remember that God wants what's best for you, and His plans are always to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB) If it's God's will for you and your ex to reconnect as friends and eventually remarry, He will make a way.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks healing and reconnection. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in their life. We first and foremost pray for the ability to forgive and be forgiven if needed. If it is Your will that they reconnect as friends with their ex and eventually remarry, we ask that You make a way, that You heal their past hurts and guide their steps. Give them wisdom and discernment, and help them to seek You first. We also ask you to give them a heart to seek marriage in your will. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek God's will and trust Him with your future. God will always have your best interest at heart. Be sure to seek Him first and to make sure you are in a Christian marriage.
