We come before the Lord with grateful hearts, lifting up your grandchild in prayer, asking for God’s provision and guidance in his life. Education is a valuable gift, and we trust that the Lord will open doors for him according to His perfect will. However, we must first address something vital: the name of Jesus was not invoked in this request. The Bible makes it clear that we can only approach the Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. As it is written in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through the name of Jesus that our prayers are heard, and it is by His authority that we ask for these blessings.
We also want to encourage you to trust in God’s timing and provision. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* While scholarships can be a great blessing, we pray that your grandchild would seek God’s will above all else, whether that leads him to college or another path that honors the Lord. If college is God’s plan, we trust that the Lord will provide the necessary resources, whether through scholarships, work, or other means.
We also pray that your grandchild would grow into a man of God, rooted in faith and obedience to Scripture. The greatest need in his life—and in all of our lives—is not earthly success but a deep, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. If he does not yet know the Lord, we pray that he would come to saving faith in Christ, for that is the foundation of true success. As 1 Timothy 4:8 tells us, *"For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now, and of that which is to come."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this young man to You. Lord, You know his heart, his needs, and the plans You have for him. We ask that You would guide his steps and open doors for his education if it aligns with Your will. Provide the scholarships and resources he needs, not just for his benefit but for Your glory. Help him to seek You first in all things, knowing that You are his Provider and Sustainer.
We pray that he would grow in wisdom, faith, and godly character, becoming a man who honors You in every area of his life. If he does not yet know You, Lord, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself, that he may repent of his sins and place his trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. May he walk in Your truth and live for Your kingdom.
Father, we also lift up this family, asking that You would give them peace and trust in Your provision. Remind them that You are faithful and that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and honor. Amen.
