We hear your cry for peace and understand the deep distress you are experiencing in your home. Living in such close quarters with constant tension and lack of privacy is not what God intends for His children. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 14:33 that "God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." Your home should be a sanctuary, not a place of strife and anxiety.
First, we must address the way we speak about others, even in our deepest frustrations. While your pain is real and valid, calling your mother-in-law "dangerous and poisonous" does not reflect the love and grace Christ calls us to extend, even to those who are difficult. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing, but we must guard our hearts from bitterness and entrust justice to the Lord.
We also want to gently remind you that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is by His authority that we come before God in prayer. Let us always remember to lift our requests in Jesus' name, for He is our mediator and advocate.
Now, let us bring your situation before the Lord with a heart of humility and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this sister who is crying out for peace in her home. Lord, You see the strain and the lack of privacy she and her family are enduring. You know the weight of her heart and the migraines that plague her. Father, we ask that You would intervene in this situation according to Your perfect will.
Lord, we pray for this mother-in-law. Soften her heart, Father, and help her to see the impact of her actions. If it is Your will, draw her to a place where she can live in peace with her elder son and his family, as this sister has asked. We know that You desire unity and harmony in families, and we ask that You would bring about a resolution that honors You and brings peace to this home.
Father, we also pray for this sister’s husband. Give him wisdom and strength to lead his family with love and discernment. Help him to honor his mother while also protecting and providing for his wife and child. May he seek Your guidance in all things, trusting You to direct his steps.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of strife and division that has entered this home. We declare peace over this household in the name of Jesus. Fill this sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Heal her mind and body from the stress and migraines she is experiencing. Restore her joy and give her the strength to endure this season with grace.
Father, we also pray for this young child who is being affected by this tension. Comfort them, Lord, and grant them peaceful sleep. Surround them with Your angels and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way.
We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Whether You choose to move this mother-in-law to another home or change the dynamics of this situation, we believe that You are able to bring peace and restoration. Help this sister to release her burdens to You and to find her rest in You alone.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a trusted Christian mentor, who can provide wisdom and support as you navigate this difficult situation. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:14, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Sometimes, an outside perspective can help bring clarity and direction.
We also encourage you to examine your own heart and responses in this situation. Are there ways you can extend grace, even when it is difficult? Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us, "Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." This does not mean tolerating abuse or mistreatment, but it does mean guarding your heart from bitterness and trusting God to be your defender.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. He sees your suffering and hears your cries. Psalm 34:17-18 assures us, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this struggle. Lean on the Lord and trust that He will sustain you.
