Let's remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12, WEB). We need to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us, as Jesus commanded (Matthew 5:44, WEB).
First, let's address the fact that the initial prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). We want to remind the requester that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is written in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.". In Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!".
We understand that you're facing a challenging situation with your mother-in-law, but each person is a precious creation in need of God's grace and love. It's important to remember that we should not wish for others to simply go away, but rather pray for them and bless them even in difficult circumstances (Romans 12:14, WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this situation with our mother-in-law. Lord, You know the struggles and the pain that is being experienced. We ask that You fill us with Your love and compassion, even in this trying time. Help us to see her as You see her, and guide our actions, words and thoughts.
Lord, we pray for her healing and transformation. If there is any spiritual bondage or influence causing her behavior, we rebuke it in Jesus' name and pray for her deliverance. We also pray for wisdom and discernment to handle this situation with grace and truth.
We ask You to intervene between our mother-in-law and her elder son, to move and guide, and do the best for both of them and the rest of the family. We ask for clarity from the Holy Spirit and guidance to what needs to be done in this situation.
Father, we also pray for peace and harmony in our family. Help us to forgive as You have forgiven us, and to live in unity as You desire (Ephesians 4:3-6 WEB).
Thank you for always making a way and changing things for good. We believe in You and pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your mother-in-law and trusting God for her transformation. Remember that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8, WEB), and that our ultimate example is Jesus. He also had to deal with false accusations and lies, but He responded with love, mercy and grace. We also encourage you to read and meditate on Matthew 5:44 WEB, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,".
