Need housing

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I pray I get free housing and they don’t ask for my personal info and just give it to me, and I pray nobody steals my prayer like most churches and people steal my prayers.

We understand your deep need for stable housing and the frustration of feeling unheard or even exploited when seeking help. Yet we must lovingly address some concerns in your request that do not align with biblical truth, as well as the tone of distrust toward fellow believers.

First, let us gently correct the idea that prayers can be "stolen." Scripture assures us that our prayers are heard directly by God, and no person or institution can intercept them. Jesus Himself said, *"When you pray, go into your inner chamber, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly"* (Matthew 6:6, WEB). Your prayers are between you and God—no one can take them. If you have felt let down by churches or believers, we grieve with you over that hurt, but we must also remind you that God calls us to love and trust one another in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:25-26). While humans may fail, God never does.

Additionally, asking for free housing without accountability or verification is not a biblical approach. Scripture teaches that we are to work diligently and provide for ourselves and others as we are able. *"If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat"* (2 Thessalonians 3:10, WEB). This does not mean God will not provide miraculously, but it does mean we must seek provision in ways that honor Him—through honest means, transparency, and trust in His timing. Even when God provided manna for Israel in the wilderness, they had to gather it daily (Exodus 16:4). We are called to act in faith, not passivity or entitlement.

We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB), and *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son"* (John 14:13, WEB). There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him (Romans 10:9-10). Without Christ, even our most desperate prayers lack the power of His intercession.

Now, let us pray for you with a heart that seeks God’s will and wisdom:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul to You, knowing that You are the Provider of all good things. Lord, You see their deep need for shelter and stability, and we ask that You open doors for safe, affordable housing in a way that brings glory to Your name. Father, if there has been hurt or betrayal in the past, we pray for healing and restoration of trust in Your people. Help them to seek provision in ways that honor You—through diligence, honesty, and faith in Your timing.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, distrust, or entitlement that may hinder Your work in this situation. Replace it with a spirit of hope, patience, and reliance on You. If there are resources, programs, or believers You have already placed in their path to help, open their eyes to see them and give them the courage to pursue them wisely. Provide not just a roof over their head, but also a community of believers who will walk alongside them in love and truth.

Most of all, Father, we pray that if this person does not yet know Jesus as their Savior, You would draw them to Yourself today. Soften their heart to receive Your love and salvation, that they may call upon Your name and find true security in You alone.

We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to seek out local churches or Christian ministries that assist with housing needs. Many have programs designed to help those in crisis, and while they may require some information for safety and accountability, their goal is to serve as the hands and feet of Christ. Trust that God is working, even when the path is not immediate or easy. *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will act"* (Psalm 37:5, WEB). He has not forgotten you.

I am in need of a home in Philadelphia. Even though I make enough money to rent there, I have never missed a rental payment, my credit score is low so I am being passed over. I need this home in less than 5 weeks to escape my ex. Please pray with me as I find a home.
