We hear your cry for deliverance and protection, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the throne of grace and find true freedom from the accusations and torments of the enemy. The devil, who is the father of lies and the accuser of the brethren, seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death on the cross, and His resurrection that we are set free from the power of sin, death, and the devil.
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth that one confesses, resulting in salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have already made this confession, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Jesus, abiding in His Word, and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The enemy has no power over those who are in Christ Jesus. Colossians 1:13-14 tells us, "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." When Jesus died on the cross, He disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through the cross (Colossians 2:15). Therefore, we can boldly resist the devil, and he will flee from us (James 4:7).
However, we must also examine our lives to ensure that we are not giving the enemy any foothold. Ephesians 4:27 warns us, "Don’t give place to the devil." This means we must guard our hearts, minds, and actions, repenting of any sin and turning away from anything that does not align with God’s Word. Unforgiveness, bitterness, fear, and unconfessed sin can open doors for the enemy to accuse and torment us. We must daily put on the full armor of God so that we can stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that through the blood of Jesus, we have been redeemed, forgiven, and set free from the power of the enemy. Lord, we stand on Your promise that if we resist the devil, he will flee from us. We declare that [this individual] is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every lying spirit, every spirit of accusation, and every demonic force that seeks to torment or oppress. We command them to leave in Jesus’ name and to go where the Lord Jesus sends them, never to return.
Father, we ask that You fill [this individual] with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the light of Your truth and be led by Your Spirit every day. Help them to put on the full armor of God—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Ephesians 6:14-17). May they stand firm in their identity in Christ, knowing that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37).
Lord, we pray that You would expose any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Give them the courage to repent, renounce, and turn away from anything that does not align with Your will. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore them to full fellowship with You. We declare that no accusation of the enemy shall stand against them, for there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
We thank You, Father, that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We trust in Your protection and deliverance, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). May they walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for them on the cross. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
