We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where our Lord Jesus Christ intercedes for you. Your mention of Jesus as Lord is a powerful declaration, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me'" (John 14:6). We rejoice that you have called upon His name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You draw near to this dear one who is seeking Your comfort and provision. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by You (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We pray that You would wrap Your loving arms around them, soothing their heart and calming their spirit. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding them that they are never alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).
Father, we also lift up their daily needs before You. You know the depths of their heart and the specifics of what they require. We trust in Your promise that You will supply every need of theirs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33). Teach them to rely not on their own understanding but to trust in You with all their heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lord, if there are areas in their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, reveal these to them. Show them any sin that may be hindering their relationship with You, and grant them the strength and humility to repent and turn away from it. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Let them experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking in obedience to Your Word.
We also pray for their spiritual growth and maturity. Equip them with the full armor of God so that they may stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may bear the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Strengthen their faith, that they may trust in Your promises even when circumstances seem overwhelming.
Father, we ask that You surround them with godly fellowship and encouragement. Let them be connected to a body of believers who will spur them on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). Provide mentors and friends who will speak truth into their life and hold them accountable in their walk with You.
Lastly, Lord, we pray that You would use this season in their life for Your glory. May they come to know You more intimately and trust You more fully. Let their testimony be a light to others, drawing them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
