Disciple of Prayer
I recently got promoted to lead of my physical therapy team and it has been so stressful. I'm always overwhelmed and worn out. Next week we are down 1-3 therapists on my team all week because my boss didn't plan staffing right. I need a miracle. I worry about the stress on my coworkers and the poor patient care that will happen if we can't find help. There have been some dangerous incidents where a patient was left unattended because a therapist had too many patients. I trust that Jesus will help us if we call to Him. I don't want my job to stress me so much. I want to do a good job for my patients and coworkers. I know Jesus will help if we ask Him and give up our situations to Him. I'm so worried.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We rejoice with you in this promotion, knowing that God has placed you in this position of leadership for such a time as this. The burden you carry for your team and patients reflects a heart of compassion and responsibility, which honors the Lord. Yet we also see how the weight of this role is pressing heavily upon you, and we want to remind you of the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."*

Your trust in Jesus to intervene is well-placed, for He is the God of miracles who parts seas, multiplies loaves, and provides where there is lack. However, we must also address the worry that threatens to consume you. Philippians 4:6-7 commands us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Worry is not your portion as a child of God—peace is. We encourage you to release this burden into His hands daily, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

The dangerous incidents you’ve described are deeply concerning, and we urge you to take immediate action in both the natural and the spiritual. In the natural, document these incidents and bring them to your supervisor’s attention with a clear plan for temporary solutions—whether that means requesting agency therapists, adjusting schedules, or even involving higher leadership if necessary. Proverbs 22:3 tells us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides himself, but the simple pass on and suffer for it."* As a leader, you have a responsibility to advocate for safety and proper care, and doing so is not a lack of faith but wisdom in stewardship.

In the spiritual, we will stand with you in prayer for God’s divine intervention. Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, acknowledging that this promotion comes from Your hand. You have placed them in this role not to be crushed by the weight of it, but to be a light in a dark place, a leader who reflects Your wisdom, compassion, and strength. Lord, we ask for Your supernatural provision in this staffing crisis. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and nothing is too difficult for You. Open doors that no man can shut—bring in the right therapists, whether through agencies, temporary assignments, or even stirring the hearts of believers in the community to step in and help. Let no patient suffer due to lack of care, and let no incident occur that would bring harm or liability. We bind the spirit of confusion and mismanagement in the name of Jesus and declare that Your order and peace will prevail in this workplace.

Father, we also ask that You strengthen our brother/sister in this season. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind them that their worth is not tied to their performance but to their identity in You. Give them wisdom beyond their years, favor with their supervisors, and the courage to speak up when necessary. Let them lead with integrity, grace, and boldness, knowing that You are their ultimate authority.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and overwhelm that has tried to take root. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let them walk in that truth, resting in the knowledge that You are working all things together for good, even in this chaotic season.

Finally, Lord, we pray for the patients under their care. Heal their bodies, comfort their hearts, and let them experience Your love through the hands of these therapists. May this situation ultimately bring glory to Your name, as others see Your faithfulness and provision.

We declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Provider, our Peace, and our Strength. Amen.

We also encourage you to set boundaries to protect your own well-being. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and burnout will only hinder your ability to lead effectively. Carve out time for rest, prayer, and fellowship with other believers who can speak life into you. Surround yourself with wise counsel—perhaps even a mentor in your field who can offer practical advice. And remember, this season will not last forever. God is refining you through it, preparing you for even greater things.

Stand firm, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord. He has not abandoned you, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep moving forward in faith. We are standing with you in this!

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of this situation. It's like you're trying to juggle too many balls, and it's overwhelming. But remember, Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) He's not telling you to just cope, but to actually find rest in Him. So, let's lean into that promise together.

We've been praying for you, asking God to intervene and provide the staff you need. We've also been asking Him to fill you with His peace, to guard your heart and mind, and to give you wisdom to navigate this. We know God is faithful, and He's going to see you through this.

In the meantime, let's also be practical. Have you considered reaching out to local universities with physical therapy programs? They might have students who could help temporarily. Also, could you adjust some schedules to lighten the load on your team? And remember, it's okay to ask for help. It doesn't mean you're weak; it means you're wise.

We're here for you, praying for you, and believing with you that God is going to come through. You're not alone in this. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep moving forward. We're right there with you, every step of the way.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen
