Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not imagine that prayer is heard only when two or three gather, for the voice that rises from the depths of a contrite heart is louder than any multitude. Moses said nothing, yet God said to him, "Why do you cry to me?" The widow's importunity broke through, though she had none to agree with her. Be of good courage, then, and do not grow weary if the answer tarries, for He knows your needs before you ask and is working even now. But let your request be not only for the clothes and shoes and bookbags, which are passing things, but chiefly for that other thing you asked: that He would search your heart and make it new. That is the prayer worthy of angels, who cry "Glory to God in the highest" with silent awe.

Approach the Lord with thanksgiving, as Christ did at the tomb of Lazarus, saying "Father, I thank you that you have heard me" even before the miracle was done. This He taught not because He needed to pray, but to show you that prayer is not a wresting of gifts from an unwilling hand, but the glad acceptance of a Father's will. So bring your needs with gratitude, not as one who doubts, yet also not as one who presumes. Remember Daniel, who counted himself unworthy to be heard, and so was greatly beloved. But if you ask only for earthly goods and not for a heart rent in true repentance, you will miss the greater gift. Let your secret cry be this: "Lord, cleanse me, for I am not yet like You."

You are right to desire the prayers of others, for even Paul asked the church to pray for him. Yet do not sleep while others watch for you. Pray without ceasing, even as you walk the streets, with a melody in your heart that no ear hears but God's. The Spirit who searches all things knows the mind of the one who prays in Spirit. So while you seek agreement with the brethren, seek first that silent communion with the Father, joining the choirs of heaven in that mystery of prayer that needs no sound.

As for your children's needs, He who clothes the lilies will surely provide. But let your abundance, when it comes, overflow in alms to the needy, that your prayer may not be a merchants' contract but a sacrifice of love. And if at times you lack, do not draw back as though He did not hear, for His delays are not denials. He waits to enlarge your heart to receive what is truly good.

I want you to notice something beautiful in what you’ve already prayed: “I pray that I receive more than enough to provide help to anyone in need.” That right there is a heart that has already begun to look beyond its own pressing needs. Scripture tells us not to look only at our own things, but also at the needs of others. And that is exactly the mind that was in Christ Jesus. When you find yourself genuinely wanting to be a channel of provision for someone else even while you’re asking for your own daily bread, you can be confident about where that desire came from. It did not originate in the frantic, self-protective part of you. God placed that yearning in your heart. And if He put the will there, He will work out the doing of it.

So don’t be afraid to pour out the practical requests. You need clothes, shoes, bookbags, and bills paid on time. Your Father already knows all of that. He invites you to cast every anxious care on Him. There is nothing wrong with personal petition; the farmer himself must first eat of the fruit before he can feed anyone else. But what pleases the Lord most is that your prayer does not stop with your own household. You are asking to be made a blessing. That is a heart being shaped after His own heart.

Now, you also asked Him to search your heart until you are made brand new. That is the most important thing you could have spoken. The heart is deceitful above all things. We can do outwardly correct things while inwardly our motivations are tangled up in ways we cannot fully see. But God looks on the heart. Where we judge by appearances, He sees the raw truth. That is why David’s prayer in the Psalms is the only safe response: “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” You are not asking for a surface adjustment. You are asking for a deep work. And when God makes His changes, He makes them from within. A broken and contrite heart He will never despise.

The desire to give freely, to help anyone in need, is not a bargaining chip. It is evidence that His hand is already on your life. He does not want giving that comes by pressure or constraint. He loves the cheerful giver, the one whose heart is stirred. So as you wait for the school supplies and the cleared bills, keep your heart right there. Let the inner work be your first treasure. Because where your treasure is, your heart will follow. And a heart that is truly after God will find that His provision was the smaller miracle all along.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege to stand in agreement with you in prayer over these past days. It has been our joy to lift up your heartfelt requests before our Heavenly Father, trusting in His provision and grace.

We prayed alongside you for your children, that the Lord would meet every need—clothes, shoes, bookbags, and all the supplies required for school. We asked our Provider to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings so abundant that there would be no lack. We also stood with you in faith for the timely payment of your bills, that God would stretch your resources and grant you peace in every financial matter. Beyond that, we prayed that He would fill your hands with more than enough, not only to meet your own needs but to be a blessing to others in theirs.

Most of all, we joined our hearts with yours as you sought the Lord’s refining work, asking Him to search your heart and make you new in His love and purpose. We believe that even now, He is moving in ways seen and unseen, working all things together for your good.

If the Lord has already answered these prayers in ways you can see, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report—let us celebrate His faithfulness together! If the answers are still on the way, please know we are here to continue standing with you in prayer. You are not alone in this journey, and we will keep lifting your requests before the throne of grace.

May the Lord bless you richly as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
