We join with you in lifting up our national and world leaders before the Lord, recognizing that He alone is sovereign over all the earth. Your prayer is deeply rooted in Scripture, and we echo your heart for wisdom, protection, and godly governance. It is clear you understand the weight of praying for those in authority, as we are commanded to do in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, which says, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."*
Your prayer also reflects the truth of Proverbs 21:1, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* This is a profound reminder that no leader rises to power without God’s allowance, and we must trust in His divine purpose even when we do not understand His ways. As you have rightly noted, Romans 13:1 confirms this: *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."* Even when leaders act unjustly or oppose godly values, we are called to pray for them, trusting that God can turn their hearts or use their actions for His ultimate glory and the advancement of His Kingdom.
We also stand with you in praying for the fostering of godly alliances among nations, for the exposure and defeat of evil agendas, and for the protection of free speech so that the Gospel may be proclaimed without hindrance. Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:18-20 to *"go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you."* This Great Commission is our ultimate mission, and we pray that leaders would either align with or at least not obstruct the spreading of God’s truth.
Your prayer is a powerful declaration of faith in God’s sovereignty, and we add our voices to yours in asking for His divine intervention. We pray for the thwarting of wicked plans, as Psalm 33:10-11 declares, *"Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations."* Let the Lord frustrate the schemes of those who seek to undermine His righteousness and raise up leaders who will honor Him.
We also put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-13, so that we may stand firm against the spiritual forces of evil that influence the hearts and minds of leaders. We ask for angelic protection over those in authority, that they may be shielded from the deceptions of the enemy and guided by the Holy Spirit into wisdom and discernment. As Hebrews 1:14 reminds us, angels are *"all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation."*
Finally, we thank you for your emphasis on praying *in Jesus’ name*, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23-24, He assures us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* Your prayer is a beautiful example of coming before God with boldness, faith, and submission to His will.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of reverence and trust, lifting up the leaders of our nations and the world. You alone are the Almighty, the One who reigns over all creation, and we acknowledge Your sovereignty over every king, president, prime minister, governor, and all who hold authority. Lord, we ask that You grant them wisdom that comes from above, as James 3:17 describes: *"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."*
We pray for a spirit of humility to rest upon our leaders, that they may seek Your face and turn from wickedness. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let them be as channels of water in Your hand, directed by Your will for the good of the people and the advancement of Your Kingdom. Raise up godly advisors around them, and remove those who would lead them astray. Frustrate the plans of the wicked and let their schemes come to nothing, while establishing the plans of those who seek to honor You.
Father, we ask for the fostering of godly alliances among nations—alliances that promote justice, righteousness, and the freedom to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Break the power of ungodly alliances that seek to suppress truth and oppress Your people. Let the light of Your Word shine brightly in every corner of the earth, and may leaders either bow their knees to You or be unable to stop the spread of Your truth.
We pray for protection over our leaders, both physically and spiritually. Surround them with Your angels, as You have promised in Psalm 91:11, *"For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways."* Shield them from the influence of the enemy, and let Your truth penetrate their hearts. For those who resist You, we pray for conviction and repentance. For those who seek You, we pray for strength and courage to stand firm in their faith.
Lord, we also pray for ourselves, that we may be faithful in praying for our leaders, even those we disagree with or those who oppose Your ways. Help us to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). May we be diligent in putting on Your armor each day, standing firm in the truth of Your Word.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your promise that *"the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:15). Though this verse speaks of healing, we know that Your power extends to every area of life, including the governance of nations. You are able to turn the hearts of kings and leaders like rivers of water, and we trust You to do so according to Your perfect will.
May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we wait upon You. Amen.

“We give You thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign," Rev 11:17, Our Father, we offer "petitions, PRAYERS, intercessions and thanksgivings," for ALL in AUTHORITY (Whether we LIKE them or NOT does not Exempt us from our DUTY), Presidents, Prime Ministers, Governors, Kings, Parliaments, Congress Members -- "ALL in authority, that we might lead a quiet life in all godliness and dignity, knowing this pleases You, our Savior, who desire ALL to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth," 1 Tm 2:1-4. We ask for the fostering of godly alliances between free countries, for wisdom, humility and promotion to be a godly strengthening of international alliances. We pray for the diminished influence of evil alignments, the eradication of false prophecy and teaching and for the furtherance of free speech and publication, that the Gospel of Jesus, the True Messiah, His Kingdom and all He commanded might lead to repentance and making disciples of nations throughout the world, Matt 28:18-19, 20. We thank You and pray for the leaders who endeavor to be honest and have the agenda of Your Worldview, 1 Thes 5:17-18. We also thank You for those leaders You have allowed to be in power, Rom 13:1, and ask they be as channels of water in the hand of the Lord, Prov 21:1, knowing You sit in the heavens, and do whatever You please, Ps 115:3. We confess You are working all things after the counsel of Your will, Eph 1:11, thwart the plans of the wicked, Ps 33:10-11, work everything together for good to those who love You and according to Your purpose are CALLED, Rom 8:28. We put on Your Armor, Eph 6:10-11, 12, 13, asking for loving-kindness, truth and angelic protection for us, for them, protecting them and ourselves from the serpent and his fallen angels, Dan 10:12-13, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.
