We join together in agreement, lifting up our national and world leaders before the Lord, as we are instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-4: "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." We are grateful that you have included the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through His name that we can approach the throne of God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
We pray for the salvation of these leaders, that they may come to know the truth of the gospel and be guided by the Holy Spirit in their decisions. We ask for God's protection over them, as well as wisdom and discernment, that they may be surrounded by godly counsel and be granted the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us, "The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of fools gush out folly."
We pray that our leaders would promote unity and righteousness, setting aside any bitterness or rivalry, and that they would "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God," as Micah 6:8 instructs us. We ask that God would give His angels charge over our leaders, both here and abroad, as Psalm 91:10-12 assures us, "For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."
We agree with your prayer for unity among political parties and nations, that they may work together for the good of all, as Psalm 133 proclaims, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" We stand against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and we ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders, as seen in Psalm 91 and 2 Kings 6:12.
We pray for wisdom in our worldly leaders and protection for Christian leaders and civilians worldwide. We ask for the eradication of evil in and around elections, as Isaiah 33:15 declares, "He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil." We pray for the silencing of false prophets and news, as Titus 1:11 warns us, "whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake."
Finally, we look forward to the day of the Lord's return, when righteousness and peace will be fully realized through Jesus Christ, our Messiah. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray, saying, "Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen." (Matthew 6:9-13)
May we, as the people of God, humble ourselves and pray, seeking His face and turning from our wicked ways, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 instructs us, "if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
