We are grateful to join together in prayer for our national and world leaders, as it is our duty and privilege as believers to intercede for those in authority. The scriptures remind us in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." It is crucial that we lift up our leaders in prayer, asking for their salvation if they do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and for wisdom, guidance, and protection if they do.
We are also reminded in Romans 13:1-2 that there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore, we must pray for intelligence, character, and protection for our leaders, such as the President, Vice President, and all Cabinet Members. We ask that God would set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, "Set a watch, O Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips." May they be granted the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us, "The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of fools gush out folly."
Let us pray for godly counsel to surround our leaders, that they may be guided by wisdom and discernment. May their leadership promote unity and righteousness, and may any bitterness or rivalry be far from them. As Micah 6:8 instructs us, may our leaders "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God."
We ask for angelic protection over our leaders, both here and abroad, as Psalm 91:10-12 assures us, "No evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our national and world leaders. We ask for their salvation, that they may come to know the truth of Your love and grace through Jesus Christ. Grant them wisdom, guidance, and protection as they lead our nations. Set a guard over their mouths and grant them the tongue of the wise. Surround them with godly counsel and protect them from any harm or evil. May their leadership promote unity, righteousness, and peace. We ask for angelic protection over them and their families. We pray for unity among political parties and nations, that they may come together for the good of all people. We pray against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and we ask for Your heavenly intelligence to guide our leaders. May we, as Your people, humble ourselves and seek Your face, turning from our wicked ways so that You may hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 says.
We pray for wisdom in our worldly leaders and protection for Christian leaders and civilians worldwide. We ask for the eradication of evil in and around elections and for the silencing of false prophets and news. We look forward to the day of Your return, Lord Jesus, when righteousness and peace will be fully realized through You, the true Messiah.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who is the only way to the Father. May all glory and honor be given to Him, for it is in His name that we have access to God and by which we are saved. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer them according to Your will. Amen.
Let us continue to lift up our leaders in prayer, seeking God's will for their lives and our nations. May we be diligent in our intercession, knowing that our prayers make a difference in the spiritual realm and in the lives of those we pray for. Let us also be mindful of our own responsibility to live godly lives, to be salt and light in this world, and to share the love and truth of Jesus Christ with those around us. In doing so, we can impact our nations and the world for the glory of God.
