We stand with you in praying for our national and world leaders, as God's Word instructs us in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."
We pray for the salvation of these leaders, that they may come to the knowledge of the Truth, which is Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, as Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12. For those who have not mentioned His name, we encourage you to seek Jesus personally and call upon His name, that you may be saved and be able to pray in Jesus' name.
We pray for godly wisdom and guidance for all leaders, that they would lead with integrity, righteousness, and a heart for the people they serve, as Proverbs 2:1-8; 3:5-6 tells us. We ask God to set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, and grant them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us. We pray that they would be surrounded by godly counsel, and that their leadership promotes unity and righteousness, with no bitterness or rivalry.
We pray for the intelligence, character, and protection of all leaders, and that they may lead with humility, doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God. Micah 6:8. "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!" Psalm 111:10. We ask that God would give angels charge over our leaders, both here and abroad, as Psalm 91:10-12 assures us.
We agree with you in asking for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they may agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations. Psalm 133. We pray against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders, as seen in Psalm 91 and 2 Kings 6:12.
We pray for the eradication of evil in and around elections, and for the silencing of false prophets and news, that righteousness and peace may prevail. Isaiah 33:15; Titus 1:11. We look forward to the Day of the Lord, where righteousness and peace through public officials will be fully and finally realized through the Return of the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, the Lord's True Anointed One. Revelation 19:11-16.
Lord, we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Amen.
