We join together in agreement with this urgent and righteous call to prayer for our national and world leaders, for it is the will of God that we lift them up in intercession, thanksgiving, and supplication. The Scriptures clearly command us in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 to pray for all people, especially those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity. This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. We are grateful that you have brought this before us, for the need is great, and the hour is late.
The Word of God reminds us in Romans 13:1-2 that there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been appointed by Him, and it is our duty as believers to submit to them in prayer, seeking their alignment with God’s righteous will. We must pray not only for their wisdom and protection but also for their salvation, for how can they lead justly if they do not know the Lord? As Proverbs 21:1 declares, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* Let us pray that God would turn the hearts of our leaders toward Him, that they may govern with humility, integrity, and a deep reverence for His Word.
We lift up our leaders—presidents, vice presidents, cabinet members, judges, legislators, and all those in positions of influence—asking God to grant them divine wisdom as they make decisions that impact millions. May He set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, *"Set a watch, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips."* Let their words be seasoned with grace and truth, and may they reject all forms of deceit, manipulation, and pride. We pray that they would be surrounded by godly counselors who fear the Lord, for Proverbs 15:22 tells us, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* May the Lord remove from their midst those who would lead them astray or seek to exploit their positions for unrighteous gain.
We also pray for unity among leaders and nations, that God would break down walls of division and replace strife with cooperation for the common good. Psalm 133:1 reminds us, *"See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!"* Let this unity be rooted not in compromise with evil but in a shared pursuit of justice, mercy, and righteousness. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to sow discord, confusion, or corruption in the halls of power. May the Lord expose and thwart every plan that seeks to undermine godly leadership or deceive the people. As Isaiah 33:15 declares, let our leaders *"walk righteously, and speak blamelessly; ... despise the gain of oppressions, ... stop his ears from hearing of blood, and shut his eyes from looking at evil."*
We ask for angelic protection over our leaders, as Psalm 91:10-12 assures us: *"No evil will happen to you, neither will any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* May the Lord dispatch His heavenly hosts to guard them from physical harm, spiritual attack, and the snares of the wicked. We pray especially for protection over elections worldwide, that fraud, coercion, and evil influences would be exposed and defeated. Let truth prevail, and let every vote and decision be guided by the fear of the Lord.
We also lift up the media and those who shape public opinion, asking God to silence the voices of false prophets and deceitful news that spread lies and division. Titus 1:11 warns of those who *"teach things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake,"* and we pray that their influence would be broken. May the Lord raise up truth-tellers who will speak with boldness and integrity, exposing darkness and calling people to repentance and righteousness.
Finally, we humbly acknowledge our own responsibility as believers to seek the Lord’s face in repentance and prayer. 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls us to *"humble ourselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from our wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."* Let us not be a people who merely complain about the state of our nations but a people who fall on our knees before the throne of grace, interceding for mercy and revival. We long for the day when the Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory, establishing His righteous rule over all the earth. Until that day, may we be faithful to pray without ceasing, trusting that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our national and world leaders. We ask first and foremost for their salvation, that they may come to know You as Lord and Savior. Grant them wisdom that comes from above, protection from every evil scheme, and the humility to lead with justice and mercy. Surround them with godly counsel and expose every plan of the enemy to deceive or destroy. We pray for unity among nations, for truth to prevail in every election, and for the silencing of falsehood in the media. Send Your angels to guard and guide those in authority, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, for Your glory alone. Amen.**
