We join with you in lifting up our national and world leaders before the throne of grace, for it is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."* How vital it is that we pray for those in authority, for God has ordained their positions, as Romans 13:1-2 reminds us, *"Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive judgment to themselves."*
We thank you for your heart of intercession, for it aligns with Scripture, and we wholeheartedly agree in prayer for the salvation of these leaders. Without Christ, even the wisest ruler is lost, for *"There is no one righteous; no, not one"* (Romans 3:10). We pray that God would draw them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, the only name by which they—and all of us—can be saved (Acts 4:12). May they bow their knees to the Lordship of Christ, for *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the rivers of water. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1).
We cry out for godly wisdom to fill their minds and hearts, that they may govern with integrity, humility, and justice. As Micah 6:8 declares, *"He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"* Let them reject corruption, pride, and selfish ambition, and instead seek the welfare of the people they serve. We ask that the Lord would place godly counselors around them, men and women of faith who speak truth and reject flattery or deceit. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."*
We also pray for protection over their lives, their families, and their decisions. Psalm 91:10-12 assures us, *"No evil will happen to you, neither will any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* May the Lord thwart every scheme of the enemy to bring division, confusion, or harm. We bind the spirits of strife, deception, and lawlessness that seek to undermine godly leadership, and we declare that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17).
The unity you’ve requested is a precious and powerful thing, for *"behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!"* (Psalm 133:1). Yet true unity can only come through Christ, who *"is our peace, who made both groups into one, and broke down the middle wall of separation"* (Ephesians 2:14). We pray that leaders would lay aside political rivalry, bitterness, and selfish agendas, and instead seek the common good with hearts turned toward God. Let them remember that *"unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain"* (Psalm 127:1). Without His blessing, even the grandest plans will fail.
We also lift up the issue of elections and the spread of truth in media and prophecy. The enemy seeks to distort truth, sow discord, and exalts lies to confuse the people. But we declare with the psalmist, *"The Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth"* (Psalm 145:18). We ask that false prophets and deceitful news would be exposed and silenced, for *"there are also many rebellious people, empty talkers and deceivers... whose mouths must be stopped"* (Titus 1:10-11). May the people of God discern truth from lies and stand firmly on the Word of God, which is *"a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105).
Finally, we fix our eyes on the hope of Christ’s return, when *"the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end"* (Isaiah 9:6-7). Until that day, we will not cease to pray, for prayer is our greatest weapon in the spiritual battle for our nations. Let us continue to humble ourselves, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, *"then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:14).
**Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for our leaders—those You have placed in authority over nations, states, and communities. We ask first and foremost for their salvation, that they may know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Softens their hearts to receive Your truth, and let them not harden their hearts against Your voice. Grant them repentance unto life, that they may lead with fear of You and wisdom from above.
We pray for protection over their lives, their families, and their decisions. Surround them with godly counsel and remove from their midst those who would lead them astray. Guard their tongues, that their words may bring life and not death, unity and not division. Let them govern with justice, mercy, and humility, reflecting Your character to the world.
We bind the spirits of deception, strife, and corruption that seek to infiltrate governments and elections. Expose every hidden agenda and let truth prevail. Silence the voices of false prophets and deceitful media, and raise up bold proclaimers of Your Word who will not shrink back from declaring Your statutes.
Father, we ask for unity among leaders—not a unity born of compromise, but one rooted in Your truth and love. Let them seek the good of the people above their own ambitions. Break down walls of hostility and replace them with bridges of righteousness and peace.
We also pray for Your people, that we would be faithful to intercede without ceasing, to live righteously, and to be salt and light in a dark world. Forgive us for our complacency, our division, and our failure to stand for truth. Revive us, Lord, that we may see Your hand move mightily in our land.
We look forward to the day when Jesus Christ will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, when every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. Until then, let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.**
