We join together in the name of Jesus Christ to intercede for our national and world leaders, as the Scriptures urge us to pray for all in authority. Let us be thankful that God has placed these leaders over us. We are thankful all in authority are placed there by God for the good of those walking uprightly and as a punishment for those that do evil.
In obedience to the Word of God, we exhort everyone to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for all people, for kings, and for all in authority, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1 Timothy 2:1-3 WEB).
Let us pray for our leaders:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our national and world leaders. We thank You for placing them in authority, and we ask for Your wisdom, guidance, and protection over their lives.
Father, we pray for intelligence, character, and protection for our President, Vice President, and all cabinet members. Grant them godly wisdom and guidance in their decisions, and set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says. Give them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us, that their words may bring healing and unity to our nation and the world.
Surround our leaders with godly counsel, Lord, and let their leadership promote unity and righteousness. May they do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You, O God (Micah 6:8). Give your angels charge over our leaders, to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-12).
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father. As it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB), there is no other name for salvation. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We therefore proclaim salvation in the name of Jesus Christ. Only by repenting of sins and believing in the name of Jesus Christ can one be saved.
We encourage everyone to be thankful for our leaders and to be loyal to our leaders and pray for them.
