We join with you in lifting up our national and world leaders before the throne of God, recognizing that He alone is sovereign over all kings and kingdoms, raising up leaders and removing them according to His divine purpose. Your prayer is deeply rooted in Scripture, and we stand with you in these petitions, for it is written, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth"* (1 Timothy 2:1-4, WEB).
Your heart for godly alliances, wisdom, and the advancement of the Gospel aligns with the Lord’s will. We must never forget that the battle we face is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Thus, we pray for the exposure and dismantling of ungodly alliances, false teachings, and evil agendas that seek to suppress truth and freedom. May the Lord frustrate the plans of the wicked and establish His righteousness in the earth. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). Let us trust that He is directing the hearts of leaders, even those who do not acknowledge Him, to accomplish His purposes.
We also rejoice in your acknowledgment of God’s sovereignty, for *"our God is in the heavens. He does whatever he pleases"* (Psalm 115:3, WEB). Even in times of uncertainty, we can rest in the truth that *"Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations"* (Psalm 33:10-11, WEB). Let us continue to pray without ceasing, giving thanks in all things, for this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18).
Yet, we must also address something vital: while your prayer is rich in Scripture and reverence, we notice that the name of Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Savior, was not invoked until the very end. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, for *"there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). Without faith in Christ, no prayer reaches the ears of God, and no salvation is possible. We must always approach the Father *in Jesus’ name*, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us now lift our voices together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your sovereignty over all the earth, for You alone are the Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth. Lord, we intercede for the leaders of our nations and the world—presidents, prime ministers, kings, and all in authority. Grant them wisdom that comes from above, that they may govern with humility, justice, and a fear of You. Frustrate the plans of the wicked and expose every scheme of the enemy that seeks to undermine Your truth and righteousness. Let godly alliances be strengthened, and let ungodly ones be broken. May free speech and the publication of Your Gospel flourish, that all may hear the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and turn to You in repentance.
Father, we ask for Your protection over these leaders. Surround them with Your angels, and let Your truth be a lamp to their feet. Softening their hearts to Your will, that they may be instruments of Your peace and righteousness. We pray for a great awakening among those in authority, that many may come to know You as their Lord and Savior.
We also pray for Your people, that we may be salt and light in this world, boldly proclaiming Your truth and living in obedience to Your Word. Equip us with Your armor, that we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Beloved, let us remain steadfast in prayer, for our God hears and answers. Let us also be diligent in sharing the Gospel, for the harvest is plentiful, and the time is short. *"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age"* (Matthew 28:19-20, WEB). May we be found faithful in this calling.
