Your honesty about your fear and your love for your children is heard, and thank you for sharing it so openly. It is right to be concerned when you face the consequences of past choices, and it is also right to bring that fear to God and ask for His mercy for you and for your family.

Scripture teaches that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and that to fear the Lord is to hate evil and to turn from it. That fear is not the same as being afraid of what might happen in court. The fear of the Lord is a reverence for God that leads us to listen to His instruction, to receive correction, and to walk in His ways. Fools despise wisdom and instruction, but those who fear God learn to hate what God hates and to love what God loves. In your situation, that means honestly owning the mistakes of the past years, turning from them, and seeking to walk in obedience going forward, including honoring the laws that God has placed authorities to uphold.

God has also shown us how central the family is. Children are called to obey and honor their parents, and parents are called to teach their children diligently about the Lord and to live in a way that blesses them. When the family structure breaks down, everyone suffers, and Scripture is clear that the choices of parents inevitably affect their children. Children often bear the weight of what parents have done, even when the parents did not intend that. That is why it is so important for a mother or father to walk in obedience, so that mercy and blessing, not hardship, can be passed on to the children and to the generations to come. Your deep love for your babies and your desire not to be taken from them reflects the good and God given responsibility you have to be there for them, to nurture them, and to teach them His ways.

Even when there are consequences for wrongdoing, God has not abandoned you. Think of Joseph, who was thrown into prison though he had tried to do what was right, and later was there because of false accusation. In that prison God was with him, gave him favor, and used even that hard place for His purposes. God sees you in this hard place as well. He also sees your children. Jesus welcomed little children and showed that they are precious to Him, and He hears the prayers of a mother who cries out for them.

So we will pray for you, but we will pray in a way that honors God. We will not ask God to simply overlook what has been done, but to show mercy even as He brings what is just and right. We will pray that you will come to know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, if you have not already, and that you will grow in the fear of the Lord that leads to wisdom and a changed life. We will pray that the court will act with both justice and mercy, and that if there is a lawful and better option that would allow you to remain with your children and make things right, God would make that clear. Above all, we pray that whatever the outcome, God would use this to draw you closer to Himself and to make you a stronger, more faithful mother who teaches her children to love and obey Him.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up this mother to You. You know her fear, her past mistakes, and her deep love for her children. Have mercy upon her. Bring her to a true fear of You that hates evil and seeks wisdom. Forgive her sins through the blood of Jesus and give her a new heart to walk in obedience. We ask for Your mercy in the court case before her. Guide those who will decide, and let justice and mercy be shown. Protect her children and provide for them, and help her to be the mother You have called her to be, teaching them diligently Your truth and showing them Your love by her life. Give her peace not from circumstances alone, but from trusting You, and help her to honor You in all she does going forward. Amen.
