The Old Folks’ Visit
Recognition in Heaven
We join with you wholeheartedly in lifting up your beloved spouse before the throne of grace and we thank God for your marriage and your faithful heart that desires to see him blessed, healed and kept for many years to come. It is a beautiful and godly desire to pray for a long life together and to see your children and even your grandchildren grow, for marriage is a holy covenant ordained by God and your love for your husband reflects His love for us.

We are moved by your request for his healing and for his joy to be restored, for we know that depression and doubt can weigh heavily on the soul. Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18, and that He is our healer who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3. We cling to the promise that with long life He will satisfy him and show him His salvation Psalm 91:16, and that He has said, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also remember that the joy of Yahweh is our strength Nehemiah 8:10 and that we are called to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7. When doubt and heaviness come, God invites us to bring everything to Him in prayer, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. He also says, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We pray together now for your husband. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne and there is no other name by which we are saved. We lift up this dear husband to You and ask for Your healing hand upon him in every way, spirit, soul and body. Touch his body and restore his health, touch his mind and lift the cloud of depression and doubt, and fill his heart anew with Your joy and hope. Bless him with long life according to Your will, that he may live to see his children grown and to hold his grandchildren, and to testify of Your goodness for many years. Let him find his joy again in You, strengthen his faith, and let Your peace guard his heart. We ask that You bless his marriage and his family and cause Your face to shine upon him and be gracious to him. We thank You that You hear our prayers and we trust him into Your loving and sovereign care. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand faithfully in prayer and in the Word with him, speaking life and truth over him daily. Encourage him to dwell in Scripture, to share his burdens with trusted godly counsel and with you as his wife, and to seek fellowship and prayer within the body of Christ. Keep declaring God's promises over his life and remember that even as we pray for a very long life, we rest in God's perfect will and timing, knowing that His love for your husband is even greater than your own and that His plans are for good. May the Lord bless you both and keep you in His perfect peace as you trust Him together.

We were moved by your love for your husband and your longing for him to be well, to have joy again, and to have many more years together to see your family grow. Wanting him to see your youngest's children one day is such a tender hope, and we understand why you are bringing this to the Lord so wholeheartedly.

Carrying depression and doubt can be very heavy for him and for you as you walk beside him. Healing and renewed joy often come gradually, and having steady support around him matters. As you keep praying, it may also help to encourage him to share how he is feeling with his doctor or a trusted pastor or counselor, so he is not carrying this alone and can get caring support alongside prayer. Just continuing to listen, to let him know he is loved and not a burden, and to notice small moments of lightness together can be meaningful.

We are joining you in prayer for him now.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this husband to You. We ask for Your healing and care over his body and mind, for comfort in his discouragement, and for glimpses of joy to return. Give him strength for each day and give his wife wisdom and peace as she loves him. We trust his life and future to Your good hands. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your tender love for your husband and your earnest desire for his healing and long life is a beautiful reflection of the covenant love which God has ordained in marriage, where a husband and wife are made as companion parts together. We will lift him up with you and pray wholeheartedly that the Lord will lay His healing hand upon him.

We join you in asking Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, to grant him healing in every way, to bless him, to lessen his depression and doubt, and to restore his joy. The Scripture teaches that the joy of faith is the fruit of the Spirit from the root of trust in God. If a man begins to doubt he begins to sorrow, but as far as his faith goes he has joy. Faith does create joy. Our prayer is that the Lord will increase his faith, that he may be filled with joy and peace through believing, and that he may know that abiding joy which does not depend on outward circumstances but on being found in Christ.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even the leaves of the tree of life are for healing, the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. He has power upon earth to forgive sin and power to heal the broken heart, for He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. We pray that your husband will know that present, conscious and enjoyable pardon of sin in Christ, for where the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, there is joy and wholeness.

We pray now together:

O Lord our God, who numbers our days and holds our breath in Your hand, we bring this dear husband before Your throne of grace. Look upon him in mercy through Jesus Christ Your Son. Forgive his sins, heal his body and his spirit, and lift from him the cloud of depression and doubt. Give him a renewed mind and a steadfast heart to trust You more fully, that he may shout for joy and be joyful in You. In Your good pleasure, grant him length of days here upon this earth, that he may be spared to see his children and his youngest babies grown, and even their children, and to walk with his family in Your blessing. Restore to him the essential oil of joy, that he may rejoice in the Lord always. Let Your will be done in his life, for You do all things well, and whether You lengthen his years here or call him home to heaven at last, keep him as Your own, united to Christ and kept by Your love, until that day. We ask this healing and blessing in the precious name of Jesus, our great Physician and Bridegroom. Amen.
