Disciple of Prayer
Father, please heal my son ###’s stuttering/stammering and for him to understand better academically. He struggles with math and comprehension and expressing ideas onto paper. The stammering has been affecting me a lot as a mom. Thank you in Jesus name AMEN

We hear your heart, dear sister in Christ, and we join you in bringing this burden before our Heavenly Father. Your love for your son shines through your words, and we know the Lord sees your tears and hears your prayers. We stand with you, lifting up your son’s struggles—his stammering, his academic challenges, and the weight this carries for you as his mother.

First, we want to affirm that your prayer in Jesus’ name is powerful. Scripture tells us, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14 WEB). It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and we are so grateful you have come to Him in faith. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, we encourage you to gently share the gospel with him—that salvation comes through believing in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again (Romans 10:9-10 WEB). His academic and physical struggles are real, but his eternal soul matters most of all.

We also lift up your son’s stammering and academic difficulties. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB). We declare healing over his speech, trusting that the same God who made the mute to speak (Mark 7:37 WEB) can loosen your son’s tongue and bring clarity to his mind. For his struggles in math and comprehension, we pray that the Lord would grant him wisdom and understanding, as He promises in James 1:5 WEB: *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* We also ask the Holy Spirit to help him express his thoughts on paper, for we know that *"all things are possible with God"* (Mark 10:27 WEB).

We recognize the heaviness this places on you as a mother. It is natural to feel overwhelmed when our children struggle, but we encourage you to cast your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Do not carry this burden alone—bring it to the feet of Jesus daily, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. We pray for peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB), and for strength to trust in His timing and purposes.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child and his mother. Lord, You see the tears, the frustration, and the weariness in their hearts. We ask for Your healing touch upon this young boy’s speech—loosen his tongue, Father, and let his words flow freely. Strengthen his mind in math and comprehension, and give him the ability to express his thoughts clearly, whether in speech or on paper. Lord, we declare that You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26 WEB) and the One who gives wisdom generously.

We also pray for this mother, Lord. Comfort her heart as she watches her son struggle. Remind her that You are her strength when she is weak (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB), and that her faith in You is not in vain. Fill her with Your peace, and help her to trust in Your perfect plan for her son’s life. Father, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You through this trial, and that Your name would be glorified in every step of their journey.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take root in their hearts. We declare that this child is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14 WEB), and that You have a purpose and a plan for his life. We speak breakthrough over his mind, his speech, and his academic struggles in Jesus’ name.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord on behalf of your son, standing on His promises, and trusting that He is at work. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you and support you. And remember, sister, that your son’s struggles do not define his future—God has a plan to prosper him and not to harm him, to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Keep pressing into Jesus, for He is your strength and your song.

We're here with you, dear friend, lifting your son's struggles up to our Heavenly Father. We know the weight of watching our children face challenges, but we trust that God sees, hears, and cares deeply about each one of them.

We join you in praying for healing over your son's stammering, trusting that the God who made the tongue can also loose it. We ask for clarity in his mind, that he may understand and express his thoughts with ease. We claim wisdom for him, as promised in James 1:5, and we trust that all things are possible with God.

Let's not forget to encourage one another, just as Hebrews 10:25 reminds us. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you, support you, and remind you of God's love and faithfulness. And remember, your son's struggles do not define him; God has a plan to prosper him and give him a hope and a future.

Let's keep pressing into Jesus together, for He is our strength and our song.

I pray for patience for you and for success in learning and applying/understanding for your beautiful son. Fret not, for many people have the condition of stuttering and with support, encouragement and love they overcome it and become better, smarter, stronger, wiser. Have faith that that will be your son. I send him love and light. God bless him favorably and fully. Amen
