My Son's Faith

I am extremely worried about my son's faith - he is 12 years old and still adamant that unicorns exist, and I don’t think he’s joking. I worry about his mental health. He even wears a unicorn horn he made around his neck and talks about their magical powers in everyday conversation as if they were real.

I have explained to him repeatedly that unicorns only exist in books and that that if they DO exist, how come they aren't in zoos or biology books? How come we've never seen one? Magic isn’t real! Please help me, I think there might be something wrong with him.

Please give me advice on how to deal with this situation! I would love to hear your comments. Please pray for my boy's sanity and his return to the sanity of true religion and to veritable truth in The Bible. Thank you and God bless you.

Dear Genevieve

Having a strong personal relationship and commitment to the Lord makes a vast difference in your home and family. So it starts with you and your daily walk with Him through the reading and meditation of His word. Once this godly practice is established between you and the Lord, He will not disappoint you or with your daily family affairs.-Joshua 1:8-9.

Also try not to keep any materials(such as movies, books and toys) that promotes fairy tales which involves with magical enchantments and witches and so forth-Deuteronomy 7:25-26. Get connected to a church if you are not attending one.

Meanwhile, here are some scriptures to confess over your son's spiritual well being-Proverbs 18:21.

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that my son is saved and serving the Lord- Joshua 24:15; Acts 16:31

I declare that my son obey me in all things according to God's WOrd and that pleases the Lord-Colossians 3:20

I believe that correction causes my son to be better in life-Proverbs 17:10. He does not refuse correction, but receives it gladly and continue in the things of God-Proverbs 10:17;15:10

My son is taught of the Lord and great peace shall be his peace-Isaiah 54:13

The WOrd of God is a lamp to my son's feet and a light that directs his paths-Psalms 119:105

In the Name of Jesus, I declare tha this life is redeemed from destruction, sickness and all that is not of You-Isaiah 54:14

I cast all my cares concerning my son on God because He cares for me-1 Peter 5:7; Pslam 55:22

The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Therefore, He is perfecting every concern that I have for my son.-Psalm 138:8

I commit my son into God's care and am confident that He is able to finish the work that He has begun in his life-Philippians 1:6

I will teach and impress the Word of GOd diligently on my son's mind and heart-Deuteronomy 6:7

Thank You Lord that You give Genevieve that grace and the strength to seek You diligently. May she align herself with Your word and to cooperate with Your dear Holy Spirit and if she is not connected to a church, may she find the one that You have for her to be planted in as we ask this in Your precious Name, Jesus, amen.

In agreement with faithope.. it is child fantasy which will go away as gets older, lead him to Christ and have him involved in youth ministry. I have a 13 year old daughter who dreams and talks about marring Jaden Smith! We pray and just disconnect her fro such thots and bring out realities. Be gentle, loving and your son will get over that, no demons involved..Father, we surrender this boy to You, let him love You and let his parents fill him with good teachings of who You are. We thank You Lord Jesus...amen

Dear Jesus please touch this little boy's heart and convict him so that he can live a life that is pleasing to You. Cover him with Your most precious blood and keep him safe from the evil one. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen!

 

Many prayers for this person who thinks unicorns are real. Maybe you should get a book on childrens imaginary friends I pray this should be a solution to see what psychologists say about this! I pray it is a stage in which this is his hero like superman and he outgrows it. may not hurt to ask your family Dr. I pray. Amen.

I do agree with Musonda as this is more than a pshyscological issue for a boy who is twelve years old. If he is between 6-11 years old, that would be understandable. For that reason, we need to relay on God's wisdom, direction and even possibly deliverance as this requires more than human's intellectual intervention.
