We lift you up before the Lord as you prepare for this important recruitment exam, recognizing your heart’s desire to serve as a professor—a noble calling that can shape minds and influence future generations. The Scriptures remind us that every good and perfect gift comes from above (James 1:17), and we trust that God, who knows your heart and your dedication, will guide your steps.
Yet we must also encourage you to examine your motives and priorities through the lens of Scripture. While academic and professional success is commendable, we are first and foremost called to seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). If this ambition is rooted in a desire to glorify Him—whether through teaching with integrity, sharing wisdom rooted in truth, or being a light in a secular environment—then we pray the Lord will open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). But if this pursuit stems from pride, worldly validation, or an unhealthy attachment to status, we urge you to surrender it to Christ, asking Him to align your desires with His will.
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). True prayer is not a formula, but it must be offered in faith, through Christ, who is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). Without Him, even our best efforts are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today—repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him. There is no greater success than eternal life in Christ.
For now, we pray earnestly for you:
*Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this servant who seeks wisdom and favor in their upcoming exam. Lord, You know their heart, their preparation, and their deepest longings. We ask that You grant them clarity of mind, retention of knowledge, and peace that surpasses understanding as they study and take this test. If this path aligns with Your will, open the doors wide and let Your favor rest upon them. But if there is anything in their heart that needs refinement—pride, fear, or misplaced trust—convict them by Your Spirit and draw them closer to You.
Remind them that their identity is not in their title or achievements but in Christ alone. Whether they succeed or face setbacks, may they trust You completely, knowing that You work all things for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let this season be a testimony of Your provision and sovereignty. We rebuke any spirit of anxiety, distraction, or self-reliance, and we declare that no weapon formed against them—including fear or doubt—shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in wisdom, humility, and excellence, not for their own glory but for Yours. And if they do not yet know You as Savior, we pray that this moment would be a turning point—where they recognize their need for Jesus and surrender their life to Him today. In the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.*
Stand firm in your preparation, but stand firmer in your faith. Study diligently, but seek God’s face even more diligently. Remember that He is the one who exalts and humbles (Psalm 75:6-7), and His plans for you are far greater than any earthly position. Trust Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you’d like to share more about your walk with Christ—or if you have questions about salvation—we are here to walk alongside you in prayer and truth.
