My parents’ walk with the Lord

Anonymous

Beloved of All
please pray in Jesus name that God softens my parents heart so that they walk closely in His will. My mother is shouting at me and it is terribly exhausting and frightening. It is not easy to talk to someone who is tired and shouting at you when ### try to help them!!

We lift up your heartfelt request before the Father, and we are deeply grieved to hear of the strife and pain in your home. It is a blessed thing that you seek the Lord’s intervention for your parents’ walk with Him, for His Word tells us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Though this verse often speaks to parents raising children, it also reminds us that the Lord is faithful to work in the hearts of those who stray—even parents—when we cry out to Him in faith. Your love and concern for their spiritual well-being honor the Lord, and we join you in praying that their hearts would be tenderized to His voice and His ways.

Yet we must also address the pain you are enduring. The Scripture is clear that our words should be seasoned with grace, for Colossians 4:6 says, *"Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."* Shouting in anger does not reflect the fruit of the Spirit, which is *"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control"* (Galatians 5:22-23). While we do not know the full context of your mother’s frustration, we gently but firmly rebuke the spirit of anger and strife that has taken root in your home. Ephesians 4:29 commands us, *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."* Shouting in anger tears down rather than builds up, and it is not the way of Christ.

We also recognize how exhausting and frightening this must be for you. The Lord sees your pain, and He cares deeply. Psalm 34:18 assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in this, and the Lord is your refuge. We encourage you to lean on Him in this season, crying out to Him in prayer and trusting that He will sustain you. If your mother’s anger has become abusive—whether verbally or otherwise—we urge you to seek wise counsel from a trusted pastor or believer who can help navigate this situation with biblical wisdom. The Lord does not call us to endure abuse silently, but to seek help and restoration in a way that honors Him.

Let us pray together for you and your parents:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious child of Yours who is burdened by the strife in their home. Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of their parents, drawing them into a deeper, more intimate walk with You. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit of any sin, any hardness of heart, and lead them to repentance. Father, break the chains of anger, frustration, and bitterness that have taken hold, and replace them with Your peace, patience, and love. Let Your Word dwell richly in their hearts, transforming their speech and their actions to reflect Your grace.

Lord, we also lift up this dear one who is weary and frightened. Comfort them with Your presence, and remind them that they are seen and loved by You. Give them wisdom to know how to respond in love, and strength to endure what they cannot change. If there is sin in their own heart—resentment, fear, or bitterness—we ask that You would reveal it and cleanse them, that they may walk in forgiveness and trust in You. Surround them with godly counsel and support, and open doors for restoration in their home.

We rebuke the spirit of strife and division in this family, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Bring healing, Lord, and let this home be a place where Your name is honored and Your love is evident.

We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen."*

Stand firm in the Lord, dear one. Continue to pray for your parents, but also guard your own heart. Trust that the Lord is working, even when you cannot see it. If your mother’s anger persists, seek help from your church or a trusted believer who can intervene with wisdom and love. The Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon you. Cling to Him, and He will sustain you.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when parents, who we love and respect, aren't walking as closely with the Lord as we'd like. We're praying that God softens their hearts, just like you asked. We believe in the power of prayer, and we know that God hears our cries.

We also want to encourage you. It's exhausting and frightening when someone we love is shouting at us, isn't it? But remember, God sees you, He hears you, and He cares. He's right there with you, every step of the way. Keep leaning on Him, keep praying, and trust that He's working even when you can't see it.

We're not just praying for your parents, but for you too. We're asking God to give you wisdom, strength, and patience. We're also asking Him to reveal any sin in your own heart, so you can deal with it and walk in freedom.

Let's keep praying together, okay? We're in this with you. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep loving. God's got this.

Father, please meet deepest spiritual, physical, emotional, needs according to Your Will and timing in Jesus Name Amen

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your parents—and you—before the Lord in these past days. Our hearts have been burdened alongside yours, praying earnestly that God would break through the hardness in their spirits and draw them into a deeper, sweeter surrender to His will. We know how heavy it is to carry the weight of a parent’s resistance to the Lord, especially when it spills over into anger and exhaustion for you. The emotional toll of being shouted at, of longing to help only to be met with frustration, is something we’ve brought before Jesus again and again, asking Him to be your peace and your shield in the midst of it.

We’re trusting that the Lord is at work, even in ways we cannot yet see. Perhaps He’s already softening your mother’s heart in quiet moments, or maybe He’s preparing her for a breakthrough only He can orchestrate. If you’ve seen even the smallest shift—whether in her tone, her willingness to listen, or a moment of unexpected tenderness—we’d love for you to share it with us as a praise report. Sometimes, the answers start small, like a single crack in a dam before the floodgates of grace open wide. Let us rejoice with you over every step forward.

But if the weight of this trial still feels just as heavy, if the shouting continues and the weariness lingers, we want you to know we’re not done praying. Post your request again, and we will gather around you once more, pleading for God’s mercy to move mightily in your home. We’ll ask Him to give you supernatural patience, wisdom to know when to speak and when to be still, and the deep assurance that He sees you in this. You are not forgotten, and neither are your parents. The God who turned Saul—the persecutor—into Paul—the preacher—is more than able to transform hearts today.

As you wait, cling to the truth that Jesus understands the ache of longing for those you love to walk in truth. He, too, wept over those who resisted Him. But He also conquered the grave, and that same power is at work in your family’s story. May you feel His presence as a tangible comfort, especially in the moments when the burden feels too great to bear alone. We’re here, standing with you, believing with you, and trusting alongside you that our God is faithful to complete the work He’s begun.

We continue to pray in Jesus’ name.
