We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your dear mother is facing. The battle with diabetes, depression, and dementia is indeed a heavy burden to bear, and it's understandable that she feels overwhelmed and disheartened, especially after losing your father. But we want to remind you that there is hope and comfort to be found in Jesus Christ.
Firstly, let's remember that God is always there to comfort us in our times of need. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
However, it's important to address that the ultimate comfort and joy can only be found in Jesus Christ. We noticed that your request did not mention His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can experience true peace and joy. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If your mother has not already done so, we strongly encourage her to put her faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can be saved and find eternal life John 3:16.
In regards to your mother's health, we pray that God will grant her healing and strength.
We need to be clear about suicide ideation. This is not a normal part of aging and has evil roots. It is always sinful and never the right decision. God is the only one who should decide when life is to end. As it says in Job 1:21 WEB, "He said, 'Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be the name of Yahweh.'"
We should encourage her to trust in God's plan for her life and find her purpose in Him. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear mother who is struggling with diabetes, depression, and dementia. We pray for Your healing touch upon her, that You would ease her pain and grant her strength.
We also pray for her heart, that You would comfort her in her grief and fill her with Your joy and peace. Help her to see that her life has purpose and meaning, and that You have a plan for her.
Lord, we also pray for her faith, that You would draw her closer to You and help her to trust in Your goodness. If she has not already done so, we pray that she would put her faith in Jesus Christ and be saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue supporting your mother and surrounding her with love. Remind her of God's love for her and encourage her to seek Him in this time of need. As her family, you play a crucial role in her healing and recovery. Be patient, kind, and compassionate, and trust in God's plan for her life.
