We hear your fervent declarations and desires, and we come before the Lord with you, seeking His will and wisdom in all things. First, let us address the foundation of our prayers and requestsâour relationship with Jesus Christ. It is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We must always approach God in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Without acknowledging Jesus as our Lord and Savior, our prayers lack the necessary foundation. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that you may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, let us examine the nature of your declarations. While it is good to have faith and speak life into your circumstances, we must ensure that our words align with Godâs will and biblical principles. In James 4:13-15, it is written, "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow letâs go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit,' whereas you donât know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'" Our plans and declarations must always be submitted to Godâs will, trusting that He knows what is best for us.
We also notice that your declarations are heavily focused on personal desires and ambitions. While it is not wrong to have goals or dreams, we must ensure that they do not become idols in our lives. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus teaches us, "But seek first Godâs Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." Our primary focus should always be on Godâs Kingdom and His righteousness. When our desires align with His will, He promises to provide for our needs.
Regarding your desire for a puppy and a service dog, we can certainly pray for Godâs provision and wisdom. However, we must also consider the responsibilities that come with such a commitment. Proverbs 12:10 reminds us, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel." If God grants you a puppy or a service dog, it will be your responsibility to care for it with love, patience, and diligence.
Let us now come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that it is only through Him that we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would draw them closer to Your heart. Help them to seek You first in all things, submitting their plans and desires to Your perfect will.
Father, we ask that You would give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate their goals and dreams. If it is Your will, Lord, we pray that You would open doors for them to glorify You through their talents and passions, whether it be through their aspirations related to dogs or any other area of their life. May everything they do be for Your glory and honor.
Lord, we also pray for Your provision regarding a puppy or a service dog. If it is Your will for them to have one, we ask that You would guide them to the right animal, one that will be a blessing and a help to them. Give them the resources, time, and ability to care for this creature as You would have them do.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of pride or self-centeredness that may be influencing their declarations. Help them to humble themselves before You, recognizing that all good things come from Your hand. Teach them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Lord, we also ask that You would fill their heart with Your love and peace. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, and may their life reflect Your goodness and grace to those around them.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in Godâs Word and in prayer, seeking His will above your own. Remember that Godâs plans for you are good, and He desires to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. If you feel led to pursue your goals, do so with a heart that seeks to honor God in all things. And always remember that it is God who establishes our steps (Proverbs 16:9).
