My mother was insolent/rude, pray for her repentance

Your mother sounds like she may have narcissistic tendencies. I'm sorry but these people don't change. I have a mother like that. I've wasted decades and she is still the same. Actually, with age, they become more bitter and sour.
Instead of her being happy to hear from you she attacks and does the pity party which is a form of manipulation and possibly using guilt to make you feel obligated.
The problem with these sorts of people is that they don't think they ever do anything wrong and if that is the case she won't change since change involves humility and repentance. Two things that these sort of people don't have.
Has your mother ever apologized for anything in her entire life? Does your mother always use manipulation tactics to make you feel obligated and guilty?
Just some things for you to consider.

It all depends on what you want to do. There are different ways to deal with this. Depends on how much you can handle and for how long. You can't change other people and if this has been going on for a long time then maybe your mother takes for granted that you will just put up with it. Are you the scapegoat by any chance? If so, it doesn't go well for you. Your mother is used to dumping blame and guilt on you and will continue to do so as long as you let her.
Maybe make boundaries and clearly tell her that if she mistreats you that you will give her one warning and then if she continues to disrespect you then you will either hang up the phone or leave if you are visiting her. The only other thing is to offer to go for some kind of family counseling but if she doesn't want to admit fault for anything then that might not work. Other than that you can limit contact and see if she gets the hint. If not then over time you might have to go no contact to preserve your sanity.
After decades of abuse, I had to do so. I wasn't going to give my whole life to someone that only wants to dump on me and is never satisfied and neither should you. There comes a time that if the other person just wants to use you as an emotional punching bag that you have to remove yourself from the situation for your own well being. This longterm abuse can cause you to have depression and even PTSD and can also affect your health. It simply is not worth it.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
