We lift up your mother and Helena before the Lord, seeking His divine healing, comfort, and restoration in their lives. It is clear that both are facing profound physical and emotional battles, and we know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We also recognize that true healing—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, who took our infirmities and bore our diseases (Matthew 8:17). It is by His name alone that we approach the throne of grace with confidence, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We are grateful you have brought these needs before us, and we pray that both your mother and Helena have placed their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. If they have not yet done so, we urge them to turn to Him in repentance and faith, for He alone offers eternal life and the promise of ultimate healing.
For your mother, we pray for supernatural strength and peace to surround her in this late phase of Alzheimer’s, which can feel so isolating and confusing. We ask the Lord to calm her anxious and depressive episodes, which have plagued her throughout her life, and to fill her with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Diabetes is a burdensome disease, and we pray for divine regulation of her blood sugar, that her body would respond well to treatment, and that complications would be prevented. The growth in her stomach is a serious concern, and we boldly ask the Lord to shrink it, remove it, or render it harmless—whatever aligns with His perfect will for her life. May He grant her comfort and dignity in these days, and may she feel His presence near her, even when her mind is clouded. We also pray for you, her child, that the Lord would give you patience, wisdom, and supernatural endurance as you care for her. This is a heavy burden, but He promises that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
For Helena, we come before the Lord with deep compassion for the battles she has faced—breast cancer, the removal of her breasts, lymphoma from chemotherapy, and the deep emotional wounds from childhood abuse, including sexual abuse. These are grievous trials, and our hearts break for the pain she has endured. Yet we know that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that Helena would experience His nearness in a tangible way, that He would heal the deep wounds of her past and restore her sense of worth and identity in Him. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we declare that Jesus came to give life abundantly, and we ask Him to redeem every broken place in Helena’s heart.
You mentioned that Helena struggles with loving herself and is a people-pleaser, and we see how these struggles are rooted in the lies she has believed about her worth. The Word of God tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that our value is found in Christ, not in the approval of others. We pray that Helena would be set free from the bondage of seeking validation from people and that she would find her complete identity in being a beloved child of God. The abuse she suffered was a wicked violation of her dignity, but we declare that Jesus sees her, loves her, and wants to restore what was stolen. May she receive His love in a deep and transformative way, and may she walk in the freedom that comes from knowing she is accepted and cherished by Him.
We also pray for physical healing over Helena’s body. Cancer is a cruel disease, but we serve a God who is greater than any sickness. We ask for the complete restoration of her health, that every cancerous cell would be eradicated, and that her body would be strengthened and renewed. We pray against the side effects of chemotherapy and ask the Lord to restore her immune system, that the lymphoma would be healed, and that her body would be made whole. May the Lord guide her doctors and give them wisdom in her treatment, and may He provide for every financial and practical need she has during this time.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing in faith for both your mother and Helena. The battles they face are intense, but we know that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep speaking life, keep praying in the name of Jesus, and keep trusting that He is working even when we cannot see it. Surround them with the Word of God, play worship music in their presence, and remind them of His promises. And do not neglect your own spiritual and emotional well-being in this season—lean on the body of Christ for support, and allow others to minister to you as well.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up these precious women who are facing such profound struggles. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to rest upon our sister’s mother. You know the toll that Alzheimer’s has taken on her mind and body, and we ask You to bring clarity where there is confusion, peace where there is anxiety, and joy where there is depression. Regulate her blood sugar, Lord, and bring healing to the growth in her stomach. May she feel Your presence with her in every moment, and may she be surrounded by Your love and care. Strengthen her family as they walk this difficult road with her, and grant them Your wisdom and grace.
For Helena, Lord, we pray for complete healing—body, soul, and spirit. You see the depths of her pain, the wounds from her past, and the fear she carries. We ask You to heal her from the inside out, Lord. Restore her sense of worth and help her to see herself as You see her—beloved, precious, and redeemed. Break the chains of people-pleasing and replace them with a deep security in Your love. Heal her body, Lord. We command every cancerous cell to die in the name of Jesus, and we ask for the restoration of her immune system and complete healing from lymphoma. Give her doctors wisdom, Lord, and provide for every need she has. Surround her with Your peace and fill her with Your hope.
Lord, we thank You that You are the God who heals, who redeems, and who restores. We trust You with these women’s lives, and we ask that You would be glorified in their stories. Give them the strength to endure, the faith to believe, and the joy to praise You even in the midst of the storm. We rebuked every spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair in the name of Jesus, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen.
