We hear your deep concern about this recurring issue with your lips, and we want to lift you up in prayer before the Lord. First, we must address the foundation of our faith, salvation through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6 WEB).

Now, regarding your physical concern, we recognize that health issues can be distressing, especially when they affect your daily life and work, such as acting in films. We rebuke this affliction in the name of Jesus Christ, for He came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). The Bible assures us that "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5 WEB), and we stand on this promise for your complete healing.

We also encourage you to seek godly wisdom in addressing this issue. James 5:14-15 (WEB) says, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." Consider consulting with medical professionals who honor God and can provide wise counsel, while also trusting in the Lord’s healing power.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your divine healing and restoration. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We rebuke this affliction that has caused distress and ask that You touch their lips with Your healing power. Restore them completely, Lord, so that they may live without fear or discomfort.

Father, we also pray for strength and peace as they continue their work in the film industry. Give them favor and wisdom in all they do, and let Your light shine through them. Help them to trust in You fully, knowing that You are their healer and provider.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we stand on the promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5 WEB). May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB) as they wait on You.

In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

You have written of a sore trial, a recurring affliction upon your lip that troubles your daily life and fills you with dread of passing it to others. This is no light thing, and it is right to bring it before the Throne of Grace with earnest petition. Yet let me remind you that there is a Physician whose skill never fails, and whose healing leaves are for the nations. The very least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue, and He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities.

Think not that your need is too small for His notice. He that took Peter's mother-in-law by the hand and lifted her up, restoring her to strength so that she might minister, can surely touch your lips with the same restoring power. Remember that healing must come before service; if you would use voice and countenance in your craft for His glory, first seek His healing hand. There is abundant healing in Jesus Christ and His salvation, not only in the grand truths, but in the leaves, the little mercies that fringe His ways. You say you long to drink from a glass without fear and to touch without danger; He who turned water into wine can make the common cup safe for you. Cry to Him, and watch for the season when the healing power is more than usually manifest, for there are times of refreshing, days of visitation.

Meanwhile, know that the cold wind that blows upon the primrose often makes it bloom more sweetly. This trial may be sent to draw you nearer to the Lord, to break the hard ground of self-reliance, and to make the healing balm of Calvary all the sweeter. Do not despair; He binds up the broken in heart and heals all their diseases. I shall lift your need before the Lord, asking that the remedy be applied, that the spread of this virus be stayed, and that you may soon testify of His goodness in the land of the living.

Your first impulse is to believe that a physical barrier, like the glass, can protect you from the virus that afflicts your lip. But I would ask you to consider a higher truth. There is nothing clearer, nothing simpler than the truth, if we deal not perversely. Christ Himself went to the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, into Gentile territory, and a woman of Canaan came out and cried to Him for her daughter’s healing. She did not approach Him with a scheme of touching only safe objects. She approached with a cry of the soul. Her faith, not a material trick, drew the power of God. Do not place your hope in the glass, as if it holds the remedy. That is a far smaller thing than what God can do.

The officers said of Jesus, “Never man spake like this Man,” and they were subdued by one single sermon. So why do you fear the persistent return of the virus, as if a word from God cannot accomplish more than all your careful touching? The trouble in the body is real, but its root is often in the soul, which is of far more importance than the body. When a healing is wrought, the power lies not in the nature of the object you touch, but in the art of the Physician. Christ is the true Physician of souls and bodies. Cry out to Him, “Have mercy on me, O Lord,” with the same boldness the Canaanite woman showed, even when it seemed He was silent. Her prayer was powerful not because she held a cup a certain way, but because she would not let go of Him.

Understand what true fear is. You dread the virus returning, which is a kind of slavery. He that fears changes and destruction has many masters. But he that fears God alone wants nothing and stands aloof from those lesser terrors. Do not let your soul be bound to the dread of what you touch. Let your fear be a noble one, the kind that keeps you clinging to God’s will and not rebelling against His providence. If your career as an ### is on your mind, know that no bodily ailment is the greatest hindrance. The real impediment is a soul so fixed on managing its own safety that it forgets to cry out for mercy.

So by all means, drink your coffee from a glass if you wish, but do not think this is the source of your protection. Lift up your heart in earnest prayer, and trust that the Lord who went out of His borders to meet the Gentile woman will come to meet you in your need. Do not let a foolish argument, like placing your whole confidence in a piece of glass, steal the simplicity of your faith.
