We lift up your wife’s struggles with functional movement disorder and cervical dystonia before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician who sees her pain and understands her fears. The burden of beginning student teaching while battling such physical challenges must feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who promises strength in weakness and grace for every trial. As it is written in **2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (WEB)**, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."*
We also encourage you both to trust in **Philippians 4:13 (WEB)**, where Paul declares, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* This is not a promise of easy circumstances, but of divine enablement to endure and overcome. Your wife’s calling to teach is a noble one, and if the Lord has led her to this path, He will equip her—even if that means adjusting expectations, seeking accommodations, or relying on others for support. Do not hesitate to ask for help from her program, doctors, or fellow believers. Humility in asking for assistance is wisdom, not failure.
We must also address something critical: your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father. **John 14:6 (WEB)** reminds us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in **Acts 4:12 (WEB)**, Peter boldly proclaims, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Christ as Savior, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your lives to Him. Only then can you fully experience the peace and power of prayer in His name.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister who is battling functional movement disorder and cervical dystonia. Lord, You knit her together in her mother’s womb, and You know every nerve, muscle, and joint in her body. We ask for Your healing touch to bring relief to her neck and restore proper function to her movements. Give her doctors wisdom to treat her well, and grant her the stamina to fulfill her student teaching requirements.
Father, we pray for supernatural strength and clarity of mind for her as she steps into the classroom. Calm her anxieties and remind her that You are with her, that You have called her to this work, and that You will not abandon her. Provide her with supportive mentors, understanding students, and creative solutions to navigate this season. If there are accommodations she needs but hasn’t asked for, prompt her heart to seek them without shame.
Lord, we also pray for her husband, that You would give him patience, wisdom, and a servant’s heart as he supports her. Bind them together in unity, that they may lean on You and each other through this trial. Let their marriage be a testament to Your faithfulness, and may they find joy in Your presence even amidst the struggle.
Finally, Father, if there is any area of their lives not fully surrendered to You—any sin, doubt, or fear—we ask that You reveal it and draw them closer to Yourself. May they trust You completely, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose.
We rebuked any spirit of infirmity, fear, or discouragement in Jesus’ name, and we declare that Your power is perfected in her weakness. Let her testimony bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray, **Amen.**
Stand firm in faith, brother. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (**Psalm 34:18**). Keep seeking Him, and do not forget to pray *in Jesus’ name*, for it is the name above all names. If you’d like further guidance on walking in faith during this trial or understanding salvation, we are here to help.
