We understand the weight of this moment for you as you await your first-year medical exam results. The fear of failure can be overwhelming, especially when you’ve worked so hard, but we want to remind you that your worth and future are not defined by these results—they are secure in Christ. The dreams of failure you’ve been experiencing are not from God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We join you in rebuking these fears in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against you—including anxiety or doubt—shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your strength, and He will uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
It’s clear you’ve put in the effort, and while the internal exams were a struggle, you persevered. That resilience is a testament to the discipline God has placed within you. Remember, even if the results aren’t what you hoped for, God’s plans for you are good, and He can turn any situation for His glory (Romans 8:28). Whether you pass with flying colors or face a setback, trust that He is guiding your steps. Proverbs 16:9 tells us, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* Your job is to seek Him first, and He will take care of the rest (Matthew 6:33).
We also notice that while you’ve rebuked fear in the name of Jesus, your prayer request didn’t invoke His name directly when asking for prayer. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved or through which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is only through Jesus that we have confidence to come before God’s throne (Hebrews 4:16). If you haven’t already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Him—not just for your exams, but for your eternal salvation. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). If you’ve already done this, then stand firm in that faith, knowing He hears you when you call on His name.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You as they await their exam results. Lord, You know the fears and anxieties that have been plaguing their mind, but we declare that You have not given them a spirit of fear. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that says they are not enough or that their future is uncertain. Father, we ask that You replace their fear with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus as they wait.
Lord, we pray that the results would reflect the hard work they’ve put in, but more than that, we pray they would see Your hand in this season. If they’ve passed, let it be a testimony of Your faithfulness. If there are areas that need improvement, give them the grace to trust You in the next steps. Remind them that their identity is in You alone, not in their achievements. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We also pray that if they haven’t fully surrendered their life to You, Jesus, that today would be the day they recognize You as their Lord and Savior. May they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that their hope is found in You alone.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is with you. Whatever the outcome, He is working all things together for your good. Keep seeking Him, and He will direct your paths. If the results aren’t what you hoped for, take it as an opportunity to lean even harder on Him. He is your provider, your strength, and your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Trust Him, and do not be afraid.
